There are the rules when it comes to states' own recount decisions.

President Donald Trump’s campaign said Wednesday it would ask for a recount of the race in Wisconsin, saying it was “a razor-thin race” between him and Democratic nominee Joe Biden and citing reports of “irregularities in several Wisconsin counties which raise serious doubts about the validity of the results.”

“The President is well within the threshold to request a recount and we will immediately do so,” campaign manager Bill Stepien said.

Wisconsin is one of several states that could be ripe for recounts as the country awaits final results in the presidential election. Here are the rules for recounts in those key states:

Arizona

An automatic recount is triggered in Arizona if the margin between candidates is less than or equal to 0.1% of the votes cast. On Wednesday morning, Biden led Trump 51% to 47.6% with about 84% of the estimated vote counted.



Abril Valenzuela, 18, voted for the first time in the 2020 presidential election.

Neither candidates nor voters can directly request recounts in Arizona. Voters can, however, contest election results in state court if they suspect misconduct on the part of election boards or officials, if they claim illegal votes were cast or if they claim counting errors caused officials to declare the wrong candidate the winner.

When a challenge of this type is filed, the state attorney general (currently Mark Brnovich, a Republican) can move to intervene in the case.

Georgia

In Georgia, candidates can request a recount when the margin is less than 1% of the total votes cast for the office.

“The request must be made within two business days following certification of the results,” according to the National Association of Secretaries of State.

The deadline for certifying results in Georgia is 14 days after the election, in this case Nov. 17.

Oct. 12 was the first day for advance voting in Georgia, and people showed up by the hundreds to cast their ballot early at the Bell Auditorium in Augusta.


Trump was leading in Georgia by roughly 80,000 votes out of the 4.75 million counted as of Wednesday afternoon, or roughly a 1.6 % margin. But only 95% of the estimated votes had been counted. 

Michigan

In 2016, Trump won Michigan by the smallest margin of any state — less than two-tenths of 1% of the vote or 10,704 votes — and a recount in 2020 could be more likely if the race stays close in Michigan. 

Preliminary returns Wednesday had Biden leading 49.7% to 48.8% with roughly 96% of the estimated votes counted.

A recount is automatically triggered in Michigan when the election is determined by a difference of 2,000 votes or less. A candidate can also ask for a recount if they have a "reasonable chance of winning the election."

Nevada

Unlike other states, Nevada does not have an automatic trigger for a recount. 

Either candidate can request a recount in the event of a tied race. But, if there was a winner, the candidate who lost must file for the recount, according to Nevada Revised Statutes.  Additionally, the NRS states voters in Nevada can also submit a request.

A recount request must be filed within three days of when final results are certified. Nevada's count is scheduled to be certified on Nov. 16.

As of Wednesday night, Biden currently leads by a slim 0.6% margin — less than 8,000 total votes — with 25% of ballots still to be counted.

Pennsylvania

Trump was leading Biden in Pennsylvania by 53.3% to 45.5% at midday Wednesday but only 84% of the votes had been counted and election officials were cautioning patience while the rest are tabulated.

An automatic recount in the state would only be triggered if the margin is 0.5% or less of the total votes cast. Voters in individual districts can petition for recounts if they sign affidavits alleging errors in the vote totals within five days after an election, according to Ballotpedia.

Recount rules require county election officials to use tabulators of a different type than that used in the election or to count paper ballots by hand.

The recount must begin by Nov. 18 and be finished by Nov. 24, according to the National Association of Secretaries of State.

Wisconsin 

Unofficial returns in Wisconsin showed Biden leading Trump by about 20,000 votes as of midday Wednesday. That's a tiny share of the estimated 3.3 million votes that were cast.

If the race stays within 1 percentage point, the losing candidate can force a recount. If the margin is larger than that, there's no chance for one. Before any decision could be made on a recount, the official results need to be finalized over the coming weeks."

The people who receive the ballots check your signature against your name on the front of the letter, if it’s there and it matches, they open the envelope, take out the ballot inside that does not have your name on it, quickly check for write-in votes and then put the ballot through a scan-tron machine.

Mulvaney: ‘You can absolutely guarantee a peaceful transition of power’ if Trump loses

Mick Mulvaney, the former acting White House chief of staff, predicted Thursday that President Donald Trump would “absolutely” help facilitate a peaceful transition of power if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is ultimately declared the winner of the 2020 election.

“I recommend that he accept a peaceful transition of power, which I think he would do absolutely anyway,” Mulvaney said of Trump in an interview on CNBC.



“Look, the president is a fighter, there’s no question about it, and you’ll see him fighting down to the very last,” Mulvaney added, mentioning Trump’s threat in the hours after Election Day to challenge the race’s results in the Supreme Court.

But “at the end of that process, [if] Joe Biden’s the president, you can absolutely guarantee a peaceful transition of power,” Mulvaney said. “I just hope the same is true on the other side.”

Despite those remarks from Mulvaney — who served as the president’s top aide from January 2019 through March 2020 — Trump has previously refused to commit to a peaceful transition, citing his complaints about the expansion of mail-in voting amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Concerns about a potential handoff of presidential power have ramped up since Wednesday morning, when Trump prematurely declared that he had won the election, demanded that vote-counting be halted and described the early results as a “fraud on the American public.”



Trump is currently trailing Biden in the race to secure 270 electoral votes, by a margin of 264-214, and remaining contests in the key battlegrounds of Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania are too close to call.

Trump’s campaign has filed lawsuits to stop the counting of ballots in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia, and it is contesting ballots in Nevada. The campaign also could appeal a decision to permit late-arriving absentee ballots in North Carolina that were mailed before the election deadline.

Additionally, the campaign has announced that it will request a recount in Wisconsin, and it could soon call for one in Michigan, as well.

That’s absurd. The only other problem with mail in ballots is that only people with property can vote (just like the framers set it up).

There are not “non descript ballots”... just people who didn’t want to vote and threw their mail in the trash or recycling bin. This country is still free enough that we still have the RIGHT not to vote!

The world is waiting for one state to post its unofficial results. If Nevada's electoral votes go to Joe Biden, he may be the country's next president.

Election Day ended with a cliffhanger, and since then, Republicans and Democrats have been left suspended, refreshing their browsers waiting for the final five states to be called.

With Joe Biden short by six electoral votes, the exact amount held by Nevada, Democrats are keen for the state to deliver Biden a victory. 

Nevada has become an internet spectacle, as people passive-aggressively mock its election officials for what seems like a long delay in results. 

So, what is going on with Nevada?

Our source of information is the Nevada Secretary of State. 

In Nevada, the Secretary of State is in charge of supervising state and local elections and certifying results. Their office is divided into eight divisions, one of which, is the Elections Division.

Nearing midnight on November 3, the division tweeted that results were coming "very soon," and that they were waiting for the last voters in line to cast their ballots.

By 12:04 a.m. EST, state officials gave the all-clear that the final voters had cast their ballots.

At 5:45 a.m EST., they tweeted that all in-person early votes, in-person Election Day votes, and mail-in ballots through November 2 had been counted, but there was still more to go through.

About 11 hours later, Nevada's Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske, released an FAQ page about their post-election process. 

As to why it's taking Nevada so long to count, they said, it's actually going as planned.

"The counting of ballots in Nevada is proceeding at the expected pace," they wrote. "The timeline for counting ballots in Nevada comes from the legislatively approved process, and this process dictates that all properly received ballots will continue to be counted for up to nine days after the election."

The release, published at 4:38 p.m. said that at that time, mail-in ballots received on or after Election Day-- and ballots cast by people who registered day of -- still needed to be counted. In Nevada, those who register on Election Day by same-day registration must vote provisionally.

Unofficial results are currently posted on their website and are updated daily around 9:00 am PT starting November 5. Though, they note, "one-off updates may occur from time-to-time."

So if unofficial results have already been posted, why hasn't the state been 'called?'

As of 12:30 EST, President Trump trailed Joe Biden by less than a margin of 1%. Biden took in 603,807 votes, or 49.45% and Trump's tally hit 592,020 votes, or 48.48%.

State officials said Wednesday, they do not know how many more ballots still need to be counted.

"This number is unknown at this time," reads a FAQ page released by the Nevada Secretary of State.

"Many counties received a large volume of mail ballots on Election Day, either dropped off at a ballot drop-off location or delivered via USPS, and the ballots are being sorted and processed today. An update on ballots remaining to be counted will be provided when the information becomes available."


In Clark County, officials are taking a lot of heat. 

On Thursday, Clark County Registrar Joe Gloria said during a 10:0am PT press conference that 63,262 ballots remain to be counted, and that about 51,000 would be counted Thursday and reported by Friday morning.

He says they hope that the bulk of the mail ballots that have been received will be reported by Saturday or Sunday.

"It's important that everybody understand that there are also additional ballots that are pending outside of what I just described," Gloria said.

He described provisional ballots that were cast during early voting and on Election Day, ballots cast by voters who were ID-required, ballots postmarked by November 3 and ballots with either a signature missing or the signature doesn't match the signature in their system.

How is it determined whether they had not yet come in? But all through it, I am taking an unbiased opinion, beam though I am describing the overwhelming media opinion, and as it has been pointed out by same said media: Trump will remain an important voice , in spire of the fact that his base sinless educated then Biden's constituency..

To get to the point of panic, may or may not point to Trump's devisive methods of oratory, primarily.

There are, after all some positive issues he resolved favorably, such as his approach to China, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, his restoration of the sanctity of life.
However, other then that , the exasperation. by his followers are breached by over the top behavior, exceeding those that should follow normal behavior.

As far as I am concerned, I would be unexcited in the event of any one of the two, gaining the required 270 electors, and be satisfied with the outcome nevertheless.

What is troubling here, is the general mood of not only of the country, but of the whole world. It is, as if the political infection is beginning to be reflected in the viral epidemic.

It is worrisome, more in the possible after affects, rather in the immediate context of apprehension.


Yes, Arizona is another key to the increasing puzzle, but i can't see how anything legally can be accomplished by jam-packed Supreme Court.
