They say this show had more influence on my generation than any other.
Season 1 Ive watched maybe 6 times in a depression in 2003, when I first truly felt I had lost contact with my bourgeoise sister, whom I loved more than myself.
because season 1 is so impeccable, I hate the later ones.

Coal Miners Daughter 1980
with Tommy Lee Jones
Growing up dirt poor, I mean real dirt poor in East Texas. We, my family caught this movie outside a drive in. My Daddy some how with a radio antenna caught reception, we allsat down to watch a classic. I was just 8, with broken shoes, and thought to myself, wow poor people can survive and make it.

This seems to be James Cameron's answer to 2001

I owned a special collectors edition set box thing then but really didnt get the movie. I haven't watched it since. But I have finally been watching 2001, and understand the context now.
2001 is the greatest movie ever made period. Im glad I didnt try to watch it when I was 16.

You see...a pimp's love is very different from that of a square.

Dating a stripper is like eating a noisy bag of chips in church. Everyone looks at you in disgust, but deep down they want some too.

Did you see "The Passion Of The Christ"? It is by Mel Gibson and very good. The death of Judas in it is very shocking but probably also realistic.
