They both have a need for carefreeness. The difference is in the goals.

I sometimes think that science is an evolution of playing games. When playing games reveals a different power, consequences that transcend the game, that extend to the realm that is ostensibly ruled by those who frown on games. One reason it is so exciting. They only think the world belongs to them.

That seems accurate to me.
Play is certainly a prerequisite for science. Endless immersion in just trying out different ways the thing can go.

When playing games reveals a different power, consequences that transcend the game, that extend to the realm that is ostensibly ruled by those who frown on games.

Clergymen.
When they get sick of the dust (skin-slivers) that accumulate around them, the games they reach for won't lead to science though.

Mercy

Mercy is a feature of the strong. The strong are insulted at the idea of spending destructive energy on lesser beings.

This, more than anything, manipulating this instinct, is how the socialists have made inroads into the strong, enough to tip the balance.

The gat, the trigger, still has to be a weakness in the infected. But those who would otherwise resist infection are very often taken thus.

Maybe you should read the history.

Or did you simply ask where the nearest Mexican command was to surrender to?

I mean the land was stolen from the Mexicans, no? Or did the Mexicans steal it from the Indians? Or are the Mexicans mostly Indian?

Damn, where is the self righteous answer here...

But you wouldn't know about that, you have no honor.

You may think I'm joking, but only a worthless piece of shit celebrates a man's death.
