Maybe knight e5 to prevent the bishop from interfering directly.
F3 would then be a good target for him.

All these things did happen.

I lost it though. I think more imagination is required, sanity will not do at such a piece disatvantage that is nonetheless playable, or seems playable.

Against a bishop pair though. The odds...

I thought I was being very clever by reigning the horse in instead of letting it loose. but now I'm thinking maybe letting it loose was the thing, and committing to a tight pawn formation. Draw them in and flank from behind, which is what horses are for anyway. I mean knights I guess.

You think I'm wrong in thinking it's playable?

Yes overwhelming imagination is what wins such games, where the only advantage is pawns.
You need to do something like f5 to intimidate him but cant. The bishops are too good.

No, intimidation was out of the question. Inwards lay the answer.

First I thought that could be won with some power and some luck but the e pawn is a real weakness, it doesn't add to the stormram but holds it back.
So you'd have to deal with that, first. E5?

Yeah, the e pawn really sucked. I had a thought to exchange the knight for a bishop and a more favourable position, but I didn't have the stones.

I don't mean hollow gestures, just putting risks in front of him.
And... I must say the truest intimidation is often a turn inwards.

Yeah and then you're holding it with the knight, who has then a reason to be held back.

Not f4, f5.
Im still struggling to produce the coordinates, haven't worked on that at all, until I was watching this analysis of a Carlsen match by Hansen where he just kept calling out six coordinates every ten seconds.
