There are actually many good films out there in this (twisted) genre.. some more gruesome than others

Tristan and Iseult... must be the French in me.

Read the countless books, watched the countless movies.. all on the same fabled tragedy.

Silver linings playbook. Excellent movie. And I don't think many movies are worth shit.

Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell? Meh...not that good.

Now, Leaving Las Vegas with Nick Cage...that's a true love story.

Saw Nobody Wants the Night(2015) recently. Not bad. Supposedly, she was the first civilized woman at the North Pole. Kudos to her.

The Sandpiper (1965)

I wasn't really expecting to watch this or like it. But I did and it was good. I wanted to post a quote, but I couldn't decide which one, and that is probably all for the best anyway because the dialogue is pretty solid throughout and I'd rather not promote any preconceptions of the movie.

Not a bad movie, but a good romance? It's so childish and fairytale-esque.

It's the pirate's endeavor to save Buttercup and be with her no matter the cost. His love for her helps him defy death...that's romance.

I never understood why people loved that movie so much. I think it's because I saw it for the first time when I was in college. I dunno, I guess I had a hard time appreciating all of its silliness.
