Dear ILP

This is the place to shave off that long white beard and stop being philosophical; a forum for members to just talk like normal human beings.

Dear Phaedrus, you and I never interacted much, but I do remember you. I'm the amateur formerly known as Sauwelios, by the way. Anyway, ILP needs you! For these days, it's mostly occupied by madmen, Trump fans and other fascists...

I definitely remember your old name, Sauelios! One of the old timers; why the name change?

Well, my old name actually marked a big spiritual change in my life (breaking out of my depression, finding my Holy Guardian Angel, and more), and my new name marks the next big change, my crossing the Qabalistic Abyss... Very simply put: the former marked my finding God, whereas the latter marks my becoming God... But I'm not one of the madmen here, I just want to keep the earth in the Holocene and wipe the Christian ideal off the face of it!

Me and James/Drift, used to do board games that were kinda like D&D.
However, D&D tries to list all monsters, races, equipment and spells.
On my RPGs, each type of monster, species and item, is made 1 per encounter.
I make it up as i go.
I have played D&D though.
I prefer my own RPGs.
I have no one to play it with, though, so it is on the back burner.

I think maybe Drift is also on a couple other forums? It's good to hear you're both still alive and kicking! 8)

Drift went without a computer for around 3 years.
Now he's back, but not on the forums.
He's been playing Star Trek : Alien Domain : Incursion.

He is a picky eater, and also picky about what he exposes himself to in the mass media.
He's a full-on Jehovah's Witness.
They have restrictions about entertainment and media.

They add all those yummy extras after the unadulterated allergen-free trial vaccine
has been tested and approved, and that’s the vaccine the public get.. the adulterated one.

I think that they should also run trial-tests post-adulterated mixture. :-k

A game of global battleships.. similar to the game of ILP battleships currently being played, but instead of claiming flags or resources, they’re claiming ILP accounts.
Yup, the conflict at iLP is sort of a microcosm of the conflict in the western world.

Phae

God I hope you laughed in the face of your laughable face and called it Pell’s Ballsy. When bad stuff happens it’s imperative you stare it down and take that bitch to Lambo town.

I live in the belfry with my candles and ink pens and euphoniums and whatnot, and I have a long-white beard and I act like a Jewish Diogenes, meaning I live simply like a dog but I occasionally whine about it.

Iron and Wine did not make me a better person so if one of you young bloods get the wrong idea and try to ask old Gamer about this or that, don’t expect a kindly old man answer. I’m more likely to snap at you and call you a jackass.

My whole jam these days is UBI, automation, distributive justice, no free will, blockchain, AI, and I really really really enjoy Stroop Waffles.

I’m into Epictetus, Seneca, Sam Harris. Nothing exists but I no longer care. I intend to enhance my biology, reset my telomeres and be off world soon, the tall whites and Elon have insisted I’m the best kind of person. They’re fools, but I will use them for their ship and biotech. Once we are a safe distance from earth I will execute the men, take the women for myself, and eat ALL the stroop waffles. Slowly, while staring into space like a bored lion.

Linguistics. Conversational implicature. It’s all there in the transcript but the pragmatics are complex like mycelium. I have the corpus and the annotated data, the data structures, to finally semi-automate the disquisition of the pragmatic layer. But problem is, language keeps changing like a kaleidoscope. Just when I think I whacked the last rodent scurrying in the crevices of Babel, the lord confounds the rules.

Nuclear bombs. Super-bugs. Late capitalism. Screen-time. Tu quoque. Ad populum. Excluded middle. Ipse dixit. We are all doomed but talk the talk we must.

Hello Phaedrus:

You certainly won't remember me, nobody really does. The only thing I remember about our interaction back then, when? Is that I texted You something irreverant and to some surprise we were watching the same movie together, with our wives. I dont even ember the title , but it meant something and You were more surprised, because for me such things are far from surprising.

Glad You dropped by and that goes for a lot of new old people popping up .
