Face masks make me literally disabled

They are truly horrible, because I can't judge distances properly. Normally I would click my tongue and use echo location.

It's true that in shops, for example, this gives me a legal exemption from wearing them. But this is not the case where I work, because we work with elderly people.

I am severely hearing disabled.... I can't make out what anyone is saying
because I need to be able to read lips to know what a person is saying....

So, I guess, a lot about what people are saying to me, and l am as often
wrong as I am right...... it ain't pretty but it is what it is...

so, I understand what a pain in the ass these masks are, if anyone knows
it's me.... but the cost of spreading the disease further is far worse then
my being unable to understand anyone...... and with any luck at all,
at some point, hopefully sooner then later, we can take the dam mask off.....

all I can say, is hang in there.... there is an end coming at some point.....

Thanks and I can underatand how much of a pain masks must be for you too.

Personally I'm not convinced they make any difference, or certainly not enough to justify forcing everyone to wear one.

Of course they make a difference dude. Tightly knit fabric certainly prevents much of the virus from passing through and becoming airborne. Its simple physics.

As I recall, way back when this was all burgeoning into the Big One, the argument was that wearing masks would not stop the covid virus from getting inside you. But then over time the emphasis shifted in the other direction. That what masks were more or less effective in doing is keeping what's inside you from reaching what's inside everyone else.

Thats really fucked up. The subtle destruction of lives that goes on in the name of health is worse than what they said would happen; a comet or a big war - we get a zombie apocalypse, a world of slow decay and gradual relinquishing of individual existence, exposing to us not the evil of the devil but the wretched ignoranc of the great obedient masses. We get to see what a folly the gift of the mind is; we see that it is good most of all at being fanatically engaged in absurd delusions.
On the other hand we see that not all men are alike; some have free agency. They are all labeled as ridiculous fanatics, as has always been the case with sane thinking people in times of great change.
The masses fear the slight bit of work they may have to do in case of a good-case scenario, so much that they are prepared to sacrifice every human right there is on the planet to not have to do that bit of discerning, of independent judging, of resistance, -
But all of us are made fragile, and exposed and wounded precisely where we are most useful to our fellows.
