I admit my manner in discussing is rough. I was raised in a different place than most people here. Trump would be considered too polite to be taken seriously where I come from. We do understand formality, but compassion when important things are being discussed is alien to us. I believe in this way the ideas expressed are truly allowed to speak for themselves, they are not censored for the sake of any one’s feelings, not distorted out of consideration. Probably this is how we end up melting the Spaniards and Italians, they are there able to speak their minds freely. They fall in love the instant they meet the returning fire.
Republicans are usually scandalized when they join one of our discussions. But democrats really suffer a deep cognitive dissonance when they witness it. They tend to have hissy fits. Actually with them we do condescend sometimes, but the actual discussion is at that point already abandoned. It is not about cruelty. It is about accuracy.
Feelings are ok and all, but they have no bearing on actual ideas.
There at least you know nothing will be taken personally. I find in the first world people seem to always take the actual things and ideas being discussed as simple veils for unrelated opinions on persons. It is always about “me,” never about “this.” The validty of an idea is gauged by how it makes people “feel.”
The first world is starved of actual warfare. And for this, I do pity them. If they don’t wake the fuck up, they might find themselves some day without the one thing they could at least always say.
Attorney General William Barr Accuses Democrats of ‘Sabotaging’ Trump Administration
Attorney General William Barr accused congressional Democrats of “sabotaging” the Trump administration by implying that the government in power is illegitimate.
“I deeply admire the American presidency as a political and constitutional institution,” Barr said during a Federalist Society dinner in Washington, DC, Friday night. “Unfortunately over the past several decades, we have seen a steady encroachment on executive authority by the other branches of the government.”
Barr said the Democrats’ constant attempts to derail Trump administration appointees have done nothing but “incapacitate” the executive branch.
“Immediately after President Trump won the election, opponents inaugurated what they called the ‘resistance,’ and they rallied around an explicit strategy of using every tool and maneuver to sabotage the functioning of the executive branch and his administration,” Barr said.
“The cost of this constant harassment is real,” he continued.
Barr claimed that while Trump’s presidency is anything but normal, the public knew what to expect.
“The fact is, that, yes, while the president has certainly thrown out the traditional beltway playbook and punctilio, he was upfront about what he was going to do and the people decided that he was going to serve as president,” he said.
Barr’s comments came on the same day the House Intelligence Committee held its second day of public hearings in the House impeachment inquiry.
Trump has been caught up in an impeachment inquiry over allegations that he pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, who served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company.

It was my Dad’s Uke. He gave it to me a few months before he passed. I promised him I’d learn at least one song he use to play, and was playing it for him when he breathed his last. Sorta personal, my connection to it. It’s a nice Uke, 1930’s Martin & Co. Someone who really knows how to play should have it more then me.
