What do we need a federal government for? And how big does it need to be. Well we are a United States. That would appear to require some centralized authority that could act faster in the event one or several states became incapacitated due to either outside forces or natural events, then they could individually. It’s already a form of socialism and insurance by pool. Who would protect Arizona, if we did have an actual invasion at the boarder with Mexico, or lets say a drug cartel within Mexico, not actually an attack by Mexico. Drug cartels, pretty much on the right on that social spectrum and politically as well. The smaller the opposition (federal government of the US, and if it were just Arizona; it’s populated by mostly old folks.) the better.
Seems the best defense would be to work with the Mexican government to eliminate its corruption. Mexico has a lot of fertile soil and a lot of corruption. Strong, optimum governments working together for each others good sounds like a better way to be a good neighbor. When was the last time we sent a neighborhood basket to Mexico? It’s a neat place, have visited several times and have friends there. If you could think a pleasant thought; their family recently lost their father, husband, grandfather. He was a good man, and will be missed on this side of the boarder as well.
Does Trump have a friend south of the boarder? I feel as if I have a second family there.
