Feminism(s)

Is there more than one feminism?

Libertarian Feminism (Freedom): Promoting equal opportunities for men and women, when and where men have more opportunities than women, but not when and where women have more opportunities than men.

Egalitarian Feminism (Equality): Promoting equal outcomes for men and women, when and where men have better outcomes than women, but not when and where women have better outcomes than men.

Equitarian Feminism (Fairness): Promoting equal or more opportunities and equal or better outcomes for women, only when and where women have been scientifically proven to deserve them, but not equal or more opportunities and equal or better outcomes for men, when and where men have been scientifically proven to deserve them.

Elitist Feminism (Matriarchy): Promoting more opportunities and better outcomes for women across the board.

Conservative Feminism:

Men and women are equal, but different.
Abortion (and contraception are) is wrong.
And while Women should have the right to work full time at an occupation of their choice, men and women should be encouraged to marry, have children, and if financially feasible, wives should be stay at home moms, while husbands protect and provide.
Girls should also be raised like girls (dolls, pink, etcetera), and boys like boys (action figures, blue, etcetera).

Progressive Feminism:

Men and women are equal, and aside from their genitalia and chromosomes, the same.
Abortion is a woman’s right.
Therefore, boys and girls should be raised according to their individual needs, not according to their sex, and when men and women couple, they should share financial and household obligations evenly across the board.

So what do you think, is there more than one feminism, or do progressives have a monopoly on it?

There’s only one feminism and conservatives have bastardized it and warped it hatefully via demonization, much like everything they do.

How do you figure?

Aren’t you just demonizing conservatives?

No I’m accurately describing what they do to anything they disagree with, in this day and age. Technically its not conservatism anymore, its far right fascism. The conservatives that remain do not do this.

Feminism is treating women equally, there is no other definition of it. How people view the equality of women is a different story and can be accomplished without demonizing feminism, which is how ignorant fascists attempt to not only just shut down the drive for equality of women altogether. The insidious part of this is they assume that women are always treated equally, somehow.

So mainstream conservatism has become far right fascism?
So opposing illegal immigration, military intervention and nation-building, or supporting protectionism is equivalent to burning Gypsies and Jews in ovens to you?

There are other definitions of it, they’re just unofficial, but not necessarily inaccurate.

Right, and just as libertarians and conservatives on the one hand, and socialists and progressives on the other can disagree over say, the economy, without necessarily being classist, they can disagree over sexual politics, without necessarily being sexist.
Socialists and progressives don’t have a monopoly on what sexual equality means in practice, or on how best to promote it.
There are, and need to be different schools of feminism.

On the contrary, women are often treated far better.

Humanism is treating women equally.

Feminism, is just male-bashing, corrupting and creating resentful males, and disrupting natural male sexuality.

Feminism was created by men, living inside of women’s bodies, who deep down hate men because they are attracted to everything feminine.

No its not. Feminism is putting women first.
You should read up because a lot of people have been abused by feminists.
There was for example a popular feminist rule in te 80s that a new born boy should not receive love.

Disagree… Feminism isn’t synonymous with egalitarianism. Feminism is political and social a movement, that has largely changed in goal and orientation since it’s conception.

It might have once been concerned with affording women the same rights and opportunities granted to men under the law, but that has changed.
As a movement it is now largely concerned with proscribing a code of conduct regarding behavioural, educational and conversational norms that privilege women. All of it under the pretense that due to the history of our culture being largely patriarchal we have conspired to make women fragile creatures, easily manipulated by the wrong advertisements, role models, speeches, etc… in order to set them free we must redesign EVERYTHING so as to protect them from this vile influence.

A mission statement that ironically undermines the core principle of the original feminists, namely that women can hold their own in the company of men and should not be treated with kid gloves or be seated at the kiddy table.
