Downscaling

What do you think about the size of the economy?
Do you think an economy can be too big?
For example, a person needs clothing, but does a person need to have 50, or 100 pairs of clothing?
Can’t they do just as well with 10 or 20 pairs?
And what about cosmetics, cosmetic surgery, or all the ‘recreational’, And ‘pharmaceutical’ drugs people take, or all the junk food people eat, do we really need all that?

Now I’m not necessarily suggesting we regulate or prohibit every little thing we deem unnecessary (unnecessary, that is to say: commodities that’re arguably not healthy, especially commodities that’re both unhealthy, and take a heavy toll on the environment), but perhaps mass production at least can be regulated and significantly downscaled.
As for unemployment, this needn’t be a problem, for government can nationalize the manufacture and distribution of commodities that Are necessary, such as real food/housing, furniture/appliances, and maximize employment rather than minimize it the way private business/corporations do.
And if there’s still not much for people to do, perhaps they can get busy with other things, like local, small scale production, or busying themselves with health, fitness, arts, crafts, literature and philosophy, or, perhaps people don’t need to be so, busy.

Economic globalism is not sustainable but economic nationalism and protectionism certainly is.

The fraudulent ideology infinite growth of capitalism must be repealed. We must return to a more sane natural policy of limited growth within the confines of reason.

Very much agreed.

Less choices. We don’t need 300 manufacturers of toilet paper, we don’t need 300 choices. Why can’t society vote on the five best products of a type and that’s all that is offered. We don’t need economic competition on all products especially if the government provided a handful of choices for guaranteed products such as food. If the quality of a product falls, then it is replaced. Simple. A quality assurance department could maintain high standards. Society allows to much crap to exist wasting resources with poor, non green, industry practices and becoming waste after a one time use of the crap that wasn’t made to last. What are society’s standards right now?

Am I being read like I’m a communist?

I’d say it’s moderate ecosocialism, not communism, and I think you make some excellent points on these matters, society is far too wasteful and destructive.
It’s not that your ideas are extreme, it’s that we have extreme capitalism at the moment, and refuse to relinquish it, even if it means consuming ourselves into oblivion.
