Why do threads get attachments?

At first I thought it has something to do with them being regularly updated, old and long.

Then this young, little thread with 3 responses and 100 views gets an attachment…

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=187596

… why?

I think it just signifies that someone attached a file somewhere in the thread, e.g. Arc’s picture attachment.

…and/or the threads are added to the super special ILP archive for culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant work. you have to guess why.

Let’s see if that’s true, fuse.

EDIT: Yep, it is. Thought so. Scientific experiment confirmed the hypothesis  .

Yes, I would like a cookie, thank you.

Just to be pedantic, because it’s the internet: Experiments can’t confirm a hypothesis, only fail to disconfirm it.

:-"

So says K. Popper. Semantics aside it’s more or less the same thing, no? An experiment’s confirmation is due to the failure of attempts to disconfirm it.
