Favorite Art

New art thread; "Imaqtpie " AKA " ThereWillBeBlood " trashed the other one with homosexual-degenerate art.

Lucifer in the 9th circle - The Divine Comedy:

If I had to pick a favourite painter, one strong contender would be Goya. He looked into the darkest corners of the human psyche, and reported what he saw.

The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters from his series of etchings Caprichos:

The Shootings of May Third 1808:

The Witches’ Sabbath:

Saturn Devouring His Son:

Michelangelo was added at the last minute — he wasn’t in the initial blueprint. He is at the bottom left side, sitting on the stairs with his hand resting his head and a pen in the other.

Another one of my favourite artists is the French Symbolist Odilon Redon.

Redon started his artist career using charcoals and lithography. This early black-and-white work is generally pretty dark and/or grotesque, as well as being frequently philosophical and/or mystical.

For example, When life was awakening in the depths of obscure matter:

The Marsh Flower, a Sad and Human Face:

The Egg:

In his later work (roughly 1890 onwards), Redon used oils and pastel. His paintings are notable for their use of bright colours, and are generally much more positive in spirit than the earlier lithographs.
