You probably wouldn’t expect that from me, but here’s my dilemma [consider this as advice to ones children who are students [and studying music, dance and theatre]];

Whilst one should always keep paths to ones dreams open, it is most important that we maintain a realistic perspective about potential employment and lifestyles. Consider the hundreds of thousands of x-factor contestants yet only one wins and maybe one or two others get a career too, that there is a top 20 for music not a top 1 mil. There are only so many jobs in the music industry and quite a lot of them are taken up by people who have family [or the right school tie] in the business.
There are thousands of ballet, dance and stage schools, with their middle class mums trying to score point against the others and gain social standing etc. one girl got singing lessons from a celebrity, yet sounded awful, someone had been telling her she could sing when she simply could not, most such people and places are just there to make money on peoples dreams.

We all just wanna be rockstars right!

I’d hate everything [esp collage courses] to be about business at the expense of art, but one has to balance dreams against realities, no? go for your dreams but take notice of where that desire is simply being exploited to little or no reward.

What ever happen to the lust and passion to be Rational?
..don't answer. I know too much on that subject. But glad to see that it hasn't been absolutely abandoned.
