Believe it or not, not everything a woman does, every thought that goes through her head, and everything that comes out of her mouth is designed to get the attention of men. I mean, considering that the female orgasm is a myth and all, WHY would we want to talk about sex unless it was just to get a man’s attention?!

A really good Japanese kid’s tv show. I was surprised by the maturity level of the content for this age group. Why don’t we have more thoughtful/useful tv shows for American kids of the same age group? Most of the material on tv aimed at kids/teenagers is saturated with fantasy/fairy tale and all things fantastic and supernatural: vampires, wizards, aliens, superheroes, etc. It’s like being back in the kindergarten.
(and it’s really sad to see a 40-something woman on a bus reading a Harry Potter novel.)

I was talking to the people next door about politics and terrorism. They then told me their daughter (whom I’ve met several times) was in the Bali bombing. Her boyfriend was killed but she and her girlfriend survived because they left the others dancing while they went back to their table. Lucky for them, a couple of strangers started hitting them up so they moved out the back behind a wall to get away from them. Seconds later, they were dragging charred bodies out from the smouldering ruins.
Her mother then said the survivors who lived locally spent the next month sleeping together in this very room… very strange.
