best song

the live version of hallelujah is possibly the loveliest song in the world. in fact, i’m going to listen to it right now.

Cry Freedom-DMB
Crush-DMB
I Can’t Get No Satisfaction-Rolling Stones
Yesterday-Beatles
Smooth-Santana
Deliver Me-Sarah Brightman
California Love-Dr Dre and Tupak

wait, I forgot Unforgettable by Nat “King” Cole and Nathalie Cole

Some of my favorites that I don’t recall being already listed in previous posts…

Collective Soul - Shine
Sandstorm (sweet song)
Gregorian Chants (to get the vibe)
Return to Innocence - Enigma
Sadeness - Enigma (many other enigma songs that I wish not to list)
Freestyler (yeah baby this song rocks, I’d like to shag now and later to this song)
I wanna sex you up - Color me Bad
Michael Jackson songs
Hungry Eyes
Freedom - George Michael
Faith - George Michael
Father Figure - George Michael (quite a few others as well)
Real Wild Child - Iggy Pop
Vibrations - Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch
Sexual Healing
Rhythm is a dancer - Snap (this songs awesome)
Love Hurts - Nazareth
Queen songs
Rolling Stones songs
Sade songs
Don’t you forget about me - simple minds
Don’t worry be happy - Bobby Mcferrin

The list is much much longer, suffice it to say that I like a little bit of everything.

What’s your take?

good grief, i forgot ‘‘i am ready for love’’ by india arie. that song is sooooo beautiful!! i don’t like ‘‘brown skin’’ though. my dad overplayed it so i’m sick of it.

also,
wicked game - chris isaak
your body is a wonderland - john mayer?
feeling good - nina simone
my baby just cares for me - nina simone

Hang on a minute! No one’s mentioned Bill Withers.

Just the Two of Us
Lovely Day (when I wake up in the morning now…)
Ain’t No Sunshine (when sheeeeeeeee’s gone)

Oh and we’ve missed Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, the Police…oh fuck it.

So many Choons, so little time.

I prefer Limp Bizkit’s version to faith…

Gotta have faith
Gotta have
F
A
I
T
H

SHut the fuck up!!!

…I just love it!!

good song choices thre jawaad. I particularly like Lovely Day also.
I sing Sexual Healing everyday also. Who else could get away with corny lines and make them work like Marvin Gaye…
“You’re my Medicine, open up and let me in…darling you’re so great! , I can’t wait for you to operate…”

Sade is cool, but after a while her songs annoy me. Her voice annoys me. Like she’s contantly on weed. The only exception is her song Lover’s Rock… Ouch!.

(I think I’m a little too excited…it’s just that I have a passion for music).
who says ouch… hmm…
which hallelujah song is that louise… The classical song, The one that Ben likes from Shrek, or the Brooklyn tabernacle version…

Ooh… Tony Bennet- The way you look tonight.

its hallelujah by jeff buckley … my favourite song ever. its the loveliest song you’ll hear. its so true about marvin gaye and the cheesy lyrics. and i also agree about sade’s voice getting annoying. but thats another one my dad overplays so that might be why.

it ain’t me babe - bob dylan
everybody’s free - quindon tarver
when doves cry - prince
purple rain - prince

so many nice songs …

My top five:

  1. Rancid- Rejected
  2. Ramones- I Wanna Live
  3. Charlie Daniels- Devil Went Down to Georgia
  4. Sick of it All- Call to Arms
  5. Pennywise- F**k Authority (great great song)

More bests:

Norah Jones- “I don’t know why”
The French song from the sony walkman ad… very ooh la la la.

No doubt’s Hella Good -“but your love keeps on coming like a thunder bolt…” ok, so the words arent that umm… authentic, but the beat is just upbeat and nice.

I was wondering what Louise was talking about when she said RHCP, then i watched the top 20 countdown, and then it hit, red hot chilli peppers!!
I really enjoyed Californication and the new one “by the way” shouldn’t be describeds as hot sex. More like rough sex. sounds like something that should be turned up during a session of s&m…lol.

-Nat

‘‘TheHairyGuy’’ … is that name a reference to ‘‘the rotters club’’ by jonathon coe? that book is so good.

i like norah jones, but after a while i do want her to get some sort of an edge to her voice. its lovely and relaxing at first, but after a while it gets a little irritating.

“To Where You Are,” Josh Groban…If I ever get my voice to sound like his, I will be the happiest baritone in the world. He’s who I want to be; he’s awesome.

Oh, and “Everything I Do(I Do it For You)” by Bryan Adams is another fantastic song.

clarice- no im just the only guy like in my whole neighborhood with long hair (its almost shoulder-length.) in fact ive never heard of that book.

My favs would be

Don’t have a favorite song. Can’t really limit myself. Recent obsessions have been refused and international noise conspiracy. Two of the most amazing bands lyrically and also musically.

I saw the international noise conspiracy the other day and I was totally blown away. I’ve never seen a better live show…

I don’t know how many of you will bother to read that whole list, but it pretty much covers the best songs there have ever been. Why? Because I said so.

i don’t think lose yourself could be deemed one of the best songs of all time. i reckon it’s going to be like the rest of the eminem stuff - it sounds good for a few months but you get tired of if fairly quickly. good to see someone mentioned blondie though.
