posting youtube video with start & end times

Hello mods,

I really like the youtube feature here at ILP. It works great for posting youtube videos, like this one of Jakob:

But let’s say I wanted to start and end at specific times. At youtube, I can type in the start and end times in the URL like so:

http://www.youtube.com/v/HC6HVXPNWkA&version=3&start=60&end=70

But here at ILP, it fails to embed the video in the [youtube] tags:

http://www.youtube.com/v/HC6HVXPNWkA&version=3&start=60&end=70

I think it would be a HUGE improvement to the site if it enabled start and end times in youtube videos.

Oh, and here would be another improvement: give Turd a limit on how frequently he posts in the Meta forum:

That song warms my heart, thanks Jakob!

Start and end times might be difficult, but I can look into it. The BBCode pulls parts out of the URL and puts them in an embedding URL. If mapping start and end times onto that is straightforward, I’ll make the change.

I’ll either make this happen this weekend or tell you that it’s beyond my ability.

Thanks for the effort, Carleas.

You should also ban all Canadians too. They tried to kill George Washington.

Hello to you too (in response to your PM).

This is beyond my ability. Not that it’s impossible, but making it work breaks the simpler and more common usage of starting and ending at the default positions.

Ah, c’est la vie. Thanks for trying, Carleas.
