Why are most of my posts and responses taking several days to appear on the forum?

Is it normal and expected for moderation staff to require several days per post for a new account?

Doesn’t this severely dissuade new members and strangers who wish to participate in a conversation?

Apologies for you having to wait, the moderation staff is a little stretched at the moment. It does of course dissuade new members.
