This site rely on a faulty system, when mods are solely the people whom are to choose a new fellow mod.
It should be very clear with the latest mod that they are solely chose for their lingual skills, not their ability to critically think, at all!
I must humbly urge carleas to reconsider his system, and focus on moderators who can critically think, just a little.
Because mods are not chosen because of their ability to critically think, but purely because of their lingual skills. The faith that carleas displays in the system is weird, why let blind lead blind, meaning why let mods to choose when they in the first place lacks sound judgemen, making them choose the wrong mods consistenly.
It is clear that we are talking about a OCD, as the question posed does not reflect any dilligent research but merely a sickly need of attention and a naive faith in chatting about it will give enlightmen.

A really brilliant response. I don’t have to agree with any policy of this site, but I don’t waste time whining about this mod or that mod. If it get’s to the point that I can’t take any more administrative bullshit, I have the option to leave. It’s called clicking the fucking mouse. It would be understandable if it was unreasonable attacks on ILP, but what has been forwarded has been very valid, even praised by carlease in The Academy thread, and exalted above others who made a similar critisism.

This thread started by you whining about the appointment of a specific person as a moderator - as if you know jack shit about the deliberations of administration in making that appointment. That you disagree is one thing, that you whine about it is quite another. Here’s a flash for you. The world doesn’t always run the way you think it should. There was absolutely no reason to create this thread other than your desire to publically whine. If you really had a complaint, it should have been addressed to carleas in PM. Grow up little person. Grow up.
Then if you knew how it works, why would you make a public complaint? Why would you not talk to Carleas in PM? Are you just looking for attention little person?
Which rules states that complaints only must be forwarded in PM?
Other people here in the forum may have the same concerns as me, and would greatly benefit from a public answer, that way carleas or any other leader may spare much time making a public answer, instead of giving the same answer over and over in PM, think!

Simply way of resolving this issue… change the formatting of this site. Instead of putting each post behind one another, let them branch out and result in multiple threads, where continuation of any particular throat is up to the users to respond to. Who would care if half of them end up in sillyness, the purity of a post to post response can be preseved rather easily. It’s a simple root system. This other shit is backwards and absurd. You don’t need more moderators, just a janitorial crew. Once it gets into people’s heads that moderators are here to clean up spambots, and not people, the overall worklevel of each moderator would drop, forum spite towards renegade moderators drop- need for the moderators or administrator to correct everyone in explaining why their unjustified deletions, banning, and moving of posts were infact justified (which 4 times out of five they fail in)… heck, you might find it’s actually possible to expand the moderation of this site to most senior members once it’s understood the goal isn’t to fuck with other people’s posts, but preventing spam. It’s easy… a simple janitoral account, where senior members of the site can go in and delete spam posts when they see it- and by spam posts, I mean AI driven spambots posting about porn or ipods for sale.
I’ve done it before, works okay. No evidence of abuse. Ideas can be expressed more freely. Ones clearly bad- such a virus or pedophilic pictures- just delete it. The justification is the violence inherent in them- violence to a computer or a child. Most of the moderators… they have very little justification to doing what they do. They claim they here to serve, but just what are serving us? They are serving shit. Poo Poo Platter.
The overall need for trickery and force will drammatically reduce if the site reforms itself. It’s rather simple and common sense. Or… we can go the old route and just fucking ban everyone again and then mention how lovely the site has become once doing so once half the users are banned and only the sheep remain. Shit… if only the police would do that, all those pesky people walking around thinking and having opinions and shouting at city hall would just go away… and then, and only then can the city council have peace. That’s a peace they can run for reelection for. A calm and quiet forum, resolved of it’s passions. And then everyone can lie down and just die, peacefully. Philosophy will really take off then.
