Merry Christmas is a worn out cultural meme?

I’m tired of being “politically correct” … echoing sterile cultural memes like Merry Christmas … Happy Birthday … Shalom and so on.

Perpetuating cultural traditions has merit … yet … from time to time worn out memes should be modernized … rejuvenated.

Reflecting on this thought taught me just how difficult it is to think of something original to say … while protecting the “spirit” of the cultural heritage. With the passing of time rigor mortis of the mind sets in?

I remembered a quote from Ste Bernadette … “They loved each other tenderly” … she was referring to her parents.

“Love each other tenderly” seems to fit with the ‘spirit’ of Christmas.

Actually political correctness would have you say Happy Holidays rather than Happy Christmas

Well I suppose one could tell inappropriate Christmas jokes as a viable substitute

December 25 as the birthday of Jesus has no biblical foundation and the timing of Christmas has its origin in a pagan festival.

The modern aspects of Christmas celebrations is nothing more than overwhelming materialism.
