We already knew that the US was not negotiating in good faith.

I think Trump needs to give Canada some brilliant favour, outside of anything contracted now.

There is too much to be gained. I have no information to go by so I can only suspect that Trump is doing the capitalist thing and Trudeau is doing the socialistic thing. Canada would have a lot to gain by a deal, especially I would venture as a portion of the Commonwealth. I really must insist that the Anglosaxon empire is consolidated on American terms, simply because it has been the most magnificent extension of the culture.

On the other hand maybe Canada would do well to keep a big fat unfriendly border between itself and Mexico.

These deals are fundamentally anti-democratic and are shift of power to corporations. No government can stop a business from doing whatever in the countries or it will be seen as anti-trade. You cannot vote in certain kinds of labor practices, you cannot protect your farmers so that they can grow food crops rather than tobacco, you cannot stop all sorts of radical ownership programs the corporations want, you cannot resist privitization, A FUCKING COURT MADE UP OF CORPORATE LAWYERS will tell your nation what they can and cannot vote on and they will financially punish anyone who gets in the way of what those corporations want.

It’s not The US vs. Mexico vs. Canada.

It’s corporate rights, period.
