Olduvai Theory And Peak Modern Technological Civilization.

I want to create this thread as a sort of philosophical, sociological, and scientific projected diagnosis of peak civilization in terms of what I view as the inevitable collapse of technological industrial civilization or society across the world. This thread will be ongoing as there is too much ground obviously to cover in one setting or post. For now I will post some general outlines of what will be discussed here.

The plan is to hoard most of the population in efficiently-run mega cities. Even today, most of architecture and urban planning revolves around the concepts of sustainability and smart. I recon most of the future world population will live in an energy efficient high density urban environment, perhaps similar to what Hong Kong looks now.

Well, except that with dwindling natural resources worldwide good luck powering those mega cities across the planet…

Nuclear fusion/air/wave/tidal/solar power, can last indefinitely ~ if there is enough of it. At the moment it is cheaper to have less renewable energy, when it gets dearer, then money will be spent on renewables.

Carbons and organics will provide for all the tech and materials we will need forever. It is all a question of balance and when, then if we get the timing right. My feelings are that we will adapt, and we will find a permanent solution, my fears are that we have to do that whilst sustaining 7 billion people. …is easily possible imho.
