The Laws of Labour

Do you respect the people you work for?
If not, you are a whore.

After I quit my first job, Ive only ever held jobs with companies and worked for people and aims that I respect.
This ranges from the very bottom of rank to some relative heights, so far. But Ive never put money in the pocked of a wretched company. Ive literally fallen to fever when trying.

This makes me somewhat hard to hire -but certainly it doesn’t inhibit my capacity for amassing wealth.

To become rich without compromising your capacity to enjoy it, you have to work for your values, first through poverty and often homelessness, and never lend yourself to anything less than your own standards. You can never separate your work from yourself. You are your work and nothing besides.

I developed Stockholm Syndrome.

Before or after you read Jakob’s original post?

Hahaha, yeah you can call it that.
Socialism is essentially one large case of Stockholm syndrome

Pretty good.

Still, as psychologically understandable it is, morally it isn’t okay.

Resist! Become what you are!

Yeah, I’ll concede that, but as much as I resist, the only way I seem to be able to get by is to befriend whichever captors will endure my sub-par contributions to their business and distribute some of their wealth to me in return. Beggars can’t be choosers, nor can they become what they are without unbecoming what they are on week days. My maximal being myself doesn’t earn me wealth - I only get to do that outside of work, and can only do it outside of work if I work to afford to rent that time from private property owners.

Biology is my holy sovereign authoritarian dictator, Socialism or not, I have to eat, drink and shelter myself. Biology is not a gun to my head, but it’s still forcing me to work or die. Sisyphus can convince himself that he’s happy all he wants, maybe he even is, but we’re all ultimately coerced whether other people are visibly involved or not. A Capitalist captor or a State one makes no difference, but at least a State one might not slave-drive quite as hard.
