Brexit continued fallout

Postby Peter Kropotkin » Wed Jan 31, 2018 6:13 pm

I came across an article that talks about the fallout from
Brexit...PM May has try to talk up some future trade deals
that will pump up the economy.....but the current news is
really bad news for the Brits.....the government has not, NOT,
done a study that they promised that would look at the economic
fallout from Brixit, because the study would show how
fuck the U.K is....the value of the pound has dropped which
has created increased inflation rate of 3%.... most of the world
economies has grown but the UK. has slowed it growth...
in 2017 the economic growth was 1.7% and in 2018 it is falling
to 1.5%... the goverment has done some internal analysis which was
leaked and despite the claims for growth in the future trade deals,
they are years away from being enacted and even if they were enacted,
the growth numbers will still fall....there is no deal that May can
make that will aid in the economic growth of the UK.... this is
the results of the internal analysis.... you are fucked...... congrats...
in being free from the overloads of the EU, you have fucked
up your country..... feel proud......

The Brexit has actually finally happened? It's no longer in a transitional state? When a good portion of anti-Brexit government officials actively stall the fruition of Brexit, yeah, that hurts the country like when the Democrats held the US government hostage during the shutdown, the USA suffered.

That the pound has dropped is part of the hallucinatory effects of beliefs on the value of things like stocks and currencies. Currencies and stocks fluctuate due to things that have nothing to do with value, though of course, the value does go down. But the hysteria of critics of Brexit is part of this. You are saying they are fucked and have the sarcastic 'overlords' (I presume it was overlords you meant). Everyone wants to paint Brexit as dumb and rightist, and short term changes mean that it must be a bad decision. As a member of the Left myself, the kind of short term losses analysis would be criticized if a corporation was using similar types of criticism by my peers on the Left. We have no idea what the problems caused by the poorer members of the Eu are going to be over time. We have felt even the first financial hits from the refugee crisis. Eu overextended itself in its urge to swallow so many countries, and that bill is coming, but we have to look long term. That's economic. Butmore important the truth is democracy is weakened the larger the 'country' , the further the decision makers are from the people they theoretically represent. If people choose to have smaller governmental areas, there only option is the nation, at this point. I wish the Left was a bit more skeptical about large distant governing bodies.

Yes, Peter being the loyal globalist democratic blood hound can't fathom people's nationalistic fervor in desiring independence as it is completely alien to him. It is a foreign concept to him.

For him the European Union is good and perhaps someday it should join the United States maybe under N.A.T.O. control of course where afterwards we can all start talking about a Global Union, right Peter? One word, predictable.

Unfortunately this is often true of liberals and leftists and it bugs the shit out of me. I mean, I have been just as irritated at the right for often thinking that corporations, utterly non-democratic powerful organizations are somehow neutral at worst, but then the left's trust of governments, often the larger the better, should not fit with leftist critique of power, but it somehow does. I find the only people I can talk to are anarchists and certain kinds of libertarians who manage to be skeptical of ANY powerful organization be it private or public. I don't know what is so hard about getting that, but it seems to be very hard for people to get, right wingers somehow thinking the protecting the freedom of corporations is holy and the left not even remotely noticing how little democracy there is and how little governments give a shit about anyone.

I myself am a national socialist monarch with a little bit of autocratic fascism thrown in the mix. ;) I'm all for an extremely powerful form of government or dictatorship just not the leftist kind Peter has in mind.

Western politics can be summed up like this, neo-liberals are a kind of Marxist totalitarian globalists being one world enthusiasts and conservatives who you might as well call neoconservatives are all about global international crony capitalism or the financial monopoly/enslavement of the entire planet. It really cuts down to the chase straightforward of the whole stinking rotten edifice of modern politics.

Having been an anarchist in the past anarchists are either of the leftist variety where they're Marxist tools and pawns where this makes up the majority of them or as one man I knew succinctly put it individual rebellious anarchists are just closet fascists in the waiting wearing overalls.

You hung out with the wrong anarchists, but I've met those also.

Can't go there with you. All the examples I've seen are anal, controlling, dislike creativity unless it fits certain very rigid patterns and think they have to use unbelievable discipline on children to make them natural. Irony lost.

No, not really. When I was an anarchist I hanged out with a variety of anarchists from a variety of ideological standpoints. There isn't one political ideology out there I am not already familiar or acquainted with.

Yeah, most people oppose a dictatorship because they've either been brainwashed by democrats or republicans their entire lives. If you ever study the history of republics or democracies they're quite similar to each other with little differences which is why both governments historically fail. Modern democracy historically grew as an offshoot out of political republics and ancient Greek democracy wasn't even a genuine democracy by modern democratic standards. The origins of ancient Greek democracy nonetheless is interesting because it illustrates quite well where all the flaws of democracy historically came from.

Dictatorships historically failed. You have a role model government now or before? Also I don't see any democracies today. I see oligarchies.
