To some extent, yes. China has cut its coal and mineral trade with North Korea.
Since 2013, the Chinese president Xi Jinping has never visited North Korea even once.
However, China will not likely fight North Korea with America, because who in his or her right mind wants to go to war with a neighbor country with nuclear weapons?
Let me put it in this way:
In this world , there are two countries, country A and country B.
Country A and B are more or less the same when it comes with the size of its land.
But country B has 4 times more people than country A.
Due to many reasons, Country B does not have much of advanced technologies and know-hows, its rate of production is lower than country A.
Therefore, with advanced technologies and know-hows, Country A can create more valuable goods ( include tangable goods like cars and intagable goods like movies and services) as country B despite the fact that country A has 4 times less people than country B.
Some very smart business people in country A wants to sell goods to country B, because after all, country B has 4 times more people, it is a huge market!
So those very smart business guys start sells things to country B, and they did make a big profit.
However, some superbly smart guys among them are calculating: If country B has 4 times more people than country A, then why not relocate the whole facility to country B? After all, if country B has 4 times more people this means the labor costs in country B will be at least 4 times cheaper!
As a result, massive investment technologies and know-hows goes to country B.
50 years later, Country B (still has 4 times more people than country A) has acquired more or less the same technologies and know-hows and it have more or less the same rate of production as country A.
Now, let me ask you:
What will the the balance of trade between country A and country B looks like?
Will the name of the president in country A and B makes a difference? Be it president Donald Trump or Trump McDonald, whatever his name is.
