Donald Trump's Win Is Proof of Democracy

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josephat_Obi_Oguejiofor

It is Oguejiofor’s position that a Democracy (Republic more like it) needs to be of these three things:

  1. It must be a society that has a system to change the government.

  2. The people must be able to vote and to pursue political goals in such a system.

  3. The citizens must feel connected with that system.

The sudden resurgency in voting is proof that democracy is being rekindled in the US, and if we keep it up, that it is getting healthier. Only time will tell. I find it reassuring that across the rust belt, interest in politics is reemerging now that governing parties on both sides if the isle are taking note of what just happened.

I’m hoping the black community in Democratic strongholds go through a similar Renaissance, stops the race wars and start demanding to be taken seriously too, the Democratic Party takes advantage of them, gives them token representation, and mostly exploits them for their votes, with little in return. They really need their own regional parties under their direct control, anwseravle to none save themselves, and offer to join whoever’s coalition that takes them seriously, champions at least some of their agendas seriously, and gives them vital seats in the executive and legislative branches, be it cabinet or committee positions. Nothing is more Anti-Democratic than the Democratic Party these days. It is suffocating to the basic needs of any healthy Democracy. It worries more about fringe, elitist ideas and radical politics than the actual people.
