License

In many more places than just on ILP it’s become clear with experience that moderatorship, administratorship, occupying positions of authority and power in general, is for most people too heavy a burden; too great a temptation to assert ones own petty animal values by fabricating a moral license out of a practical license. Such people become instantly transparent and become emaciated, lose all their mystery as a person, their most petty nature is revealed in their most self-satisfied acts.

What is lacking is resistance. Most people need the resistance of their environment to act in accordance with what they have to offer in the world. In the end only a robot is fit. This is why I voted for James - he is at least a robot-producer, so he may very well know what to do as a robot.

ILP has some very strong mods, the old ones who have remained largely out of scrutiny, but in recent years it has seen a lot of people nailed to the cross of their humanity. Every adventurous person with somewhat exalted and delicate tastes will find great difficulty in dealing with the base gut level conflicts that are fought here under the guise of philosophy.
