So long as we can record our words and thoughts and learn from it, we will progress.

But this is a near religious belief on your part. mankind might make a pestilence that will kill it off. It may make errors when it determines what post humans should be like, the gene manipulated cyborgs many think we will shortly become. How does one objectively determine we have moved forward? What are the criteria?

Not nessecarily, he said that everything would go down the drain, or something like that, that would refer to society and our development, from mudhuts to skyscrapers in metaphorically terms.

You should be more careful about what you write, what you write has no logical meaning, and in itself is totaly nonsens and babble. Athenians back in classical Greece locked up women as house slaves, only time they went out, was to the market, they did fine.

You seem total oblivious to simple historical facts, there are before western modern women got voting rights, we had industrial revolution, we did fine, therefore a rational interpetation of OP would only result in what I wrote, else I should conform with this nonsens and write some total babble.

common ground on what? what are the "problems" that need to be solved?

turtle wrote:women must be recognized around the world as having all the same rights and opportunities to participate in everything

"recognized" by who? is your self esteem totally dependent on the recognition of the other?. Oh dear, a little peak of the naive romantic idealist. who grant these "rights"? god?

Indeed.. "turtle" is the perfect specimen of a naive sheltered idealist. Feminism is just a symptom of modernity. The system enforces a strict code of social behavior to support the illusion of parity between the genders.

Can feminism be traced back to natural phenomena or is it a total disconnect with nature, a logical outcome of sheltering social systems which usurp natural balances, annihilating them, and replacing them with human constructs concerning justice, fairness, equality, utopian paradises?

What the hell's with you guys??? A man couldn't possibly want equality between the sexes? If you want a woman president, you have to be a woman? Like every man in America would be predisposed to vote against Hillary because of their Y chromosome? If Hillary were running for president, and I were an American, I'd vote for her--just for the fuck of it!

They did fine?!?! Try asking them that.

You guys say this shit to women when you're trying to pick them up?

People pick their presidents based on sexiness? Is this how you have voted? Did you want to have sex with the last person you voted for? or rooted against the least?

I just wanna know, Are you a woman? Even if you have male genitals, your thinking, attitude, essence is quintessentially female.

yeah, remember all those pre-modern (is it European?) societies that didn't have strict codes of social behavior. Men and women could do as they pleased.

What nation today where this is the rule is doing well and you would like to live there?

And obviously some of them were not doing fine.

Greece had slaves.
Or perhaps it would bother you if I point out that homosexuality between older men and younger men, even boys, was also quite accepted even venerated in parts of Greece.

Does this mean we should adopt slavery again and pederasty?
