This is a bullshit quiz. There should only be one axis starting at Freedom and going to Absolute Tyranny.
The distinction between Economic Left/Right is just a subset of the Libertarian/Authoritarian dichotomy.
I caved in and did the OKCupid test. My results:
[code]Your true political self:
You are a
Social Liberal
(88% permissive)
and an…
Economic Conservative
(91% permissive)
You are best described as a:
Anarchist (91e/88s)
You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness.

Xunzian, do you have a source for the libertarian bias of political compass? The IIDB study you linked to a previous thread only polled internet forums, particularly religious. The bias might be in the selection, as people with strong religious convictions that deviate from the norm are likely to distrust government, but they may still agree on taxes. A better study would be to run the poll with a few dozen randomly generated answer sets, and see what the distribution looks like. I guess a comparison with another site is informative, too.
It is something I have observed. You can also sorta tell by the way the website sets itself up. What I am trying to do here is test my hypothesis. I am assuming that ILP will be politically all-over the map. I anticipate that the OK cupid test will show a wider distribution than the political compass test, and that the political compass test will be condensed in the libertarian section.
Abstract art always represents (or has the potential to represent) something, doesn’t it? If not to the general onlooker, then at least to the artist, no? Yet, in the event it literally does not represent anything, neither to any onlooker (highly unlikely, but inferred by the statement) nor the artist (very possible), then, indeed, it should not be considered art. Yet, flip-side: the word art is used in the statement; law of non-contradiction would insist that it is impossible for anything labeled “art” to be “not art.” I.e., I do not think there is room for opinion here: the facts are A) if something does not represent anything to anyone, it is not art; and B) if the concept in question is “art” (as it necessarily is by virtue of the terms involved), it is art. Given this I am supposed to agree or disagree?
It’s crap like this that makes me hate these sorts of tests; similar shit happens almost every other question: the more seriously you take it, and the less you allow your emotions to answer for you, the less the questions make any sense at all. Moreover, my reasons for answering the way that I do may or may not correspond with the way my answers are deciphered. Waste of time.
I predict that there will be a bias in both tests towards social libertarianism, due to the demographic that an internet discussion forum attracts. PC will be suspect even if the OK quiz shows a greater distribution only in the economic spectrum.

I can’t do these quizzes. The question is often “should” and I have no opinion or feel “do what you like” for most. There is no N/A option. How can I answer OR questions when my thinking is EITHER. I do not agree or disagree, both are thinkable.
