Nottinghill carnival 2016

Does — a carnival make?

Lol

I will fill this thread with the ‘best bits’ of the NHC 2016… like all good commentators do… so waiting :confusion-waiting:

This clearly needs moved to that incomplete thoughts section of the site.

I will keep everyone posted with new images as the death toll is sure to rise as more homicides are committed. This is from the recent stabbing spree at the Carnival. They are clearly expecting more bodies given the number of morgue stretchers they have laid out in anticipation before that ambulance.

I lost all enthusiasm for this thread.

I was going to post something in a similar vein as TF, but couldn’t even be enthused to do that.

The NHC is an agoraphobic-clautrophobe’s worse nightmare. Too many people, but I’d prefer Too Many DJs.

The update on the injury toll is staggering compared to other music events… silly males and their differences.

Can you find out through your political contracts how many security companies were hired to support the police, and how many guards/ushers they fielded, in relation to the police? Note, this would if been more than one shift.

I’m a bit unnerved by that arrest and stabbing rate, even with troublemakers. I understand the British are inherently more prone to violence than Americans, but we can clamp down on guns and weapons, and usually don’t have that many arrests, usually. We are pretty good at getting police and security to where they need to be, with drunk tanks and active, quite visible patrols.

Also check to see how many were radioed. If you can get these figures to me, I can look it over, and make recommendations. That is, of course, if your people really are conservative elites. I can also recommend a few owners from the US for consultation (not free) who own event security companies, they can look the plans over. I have no clue what they would charge for consultations to make sure the Brits are operating up to spec. My old boss Jeff Gutierrez Event Services & Security would be a decent starting point, he has to deal cobstanky with Kropotkin and Joker class lunatics for concerts, political rallies, street fairs. We tend to have boozers, fist fights, pick pockets, molestations verging on rape, but no deaths, that is rare. Likewise I know people in concert security… it is a science, doing crowd control, knowing how to stop unrest from getting out of hand yet allowing as many people as possible to have a good time.

Oh, another thing is, and I will use the US as a example, if there is a large event, police will often contract “plain cloth” active military to fill in as security.

The military preserves it’s rank structure, are “uniformed in appearance” but not really in uniform, are unarmed, and have no powers of arrest… legally no different from any other security guard, and are bitches of the police till the event is over. We have a strong separation of the military and police, but that was a compromise we found. I don’t think the UK has as strong of a separation. There is no excuse for man power shortages, I’m hoping it’s just how the guys were deployed, that’s easy to fix.

That info would be available from the MPS (Metropolitan Police Service), the NHC organisers and NH Council, as they would jointly coordinate their people I would presume - I’ll find email addresses and telephone numbers for them.

Only been NHC twice a few years back, and that was at night (after all the crowds and trouble had gone) to party, so I couldn’t tell you how they manoeuvre their people.

I’m sure those sorts of stats are readily available and made public knowledge…

They are the Conservative party… it is probably the wealthy sponsors and donors who are the power behind any political party.

i am certain that we only use the MPS to police the NHC, which costs millions… at the taxpayers’ expense, so… especially after what happened on the weekend, they are thinking of relocating it to one of our large parks.

We’ll, larger means less crowded, which is good.

Increased vendors, better portable latrine access, easier egress, less risk of stampede.

Stampeded can kill people quicker than a bomb, they are no fucking joke. We think of it as a third world phenomena, but it’s not due to a wealth disparity- Cuba would never have a stampede issue. Crowd control and pedestrian outlets are heavily built into our system to the point we don’t even notice it anymore. Aircraft have ushers, like movie theaters, exits always marked, roads marked for pedestrian or not, protesters typically escorted by police, stopping issues. We still get car pileups on badly designed roads, but other than that, you just don’t hear of it in the west- some countries loose tens of thousands of people a year getting stomped on, it isn’t funny.

I like the German experiment of putting traffic lights in sidewalks, so pedestrians can see them, many US cities are following suit.

The carnival has always been held in the streets, which is probably why it’s hard to police effectively, and why it might be relocated to one of our large parks.

I uh, added to that.

DM’d you.

All the info you need is there, but if you want to contact the Commander direct call the Press Office number to get his number and email address.

Offensive Weapons aren’t a real crime, they are used for defence, even if Parliament insists they are forbidden, cops shouldn’t enforce it. I could walk around with a Durkha Blade hanging off my front shirt, cops wouldn’t stop me at a open festival here. We only screen those out at pay events, like at the gates of concerts. It is really important a country learns to trust it’s people to weild defensive weapons reasonably, English channel is becoming less and less impressive of a barrier by the day, it is important the citizenry be able to swiftly respond. I could arm everyone in my town with a sword, and we wouldn’t go around stabbing each other, a few accidental, self inflicted pokes, but I don’t think a homicide would occure for years using them.

If you got rid of that pointless law, and had security operating in the crowd, and police moving together in small squads 4-5 responding to security radioing them in, police assaults would be a lot less. People will pick a fight with security, but as long as there is one big guy near 2-3 normal to smallmen and women security, most won’t fight any of them, if they do, bug guy steps in, takes a hit if he can’t intimidate, cops pop up and nab them.

That’s what I would work on, is having security and cops work in separate, yet tandem, each group linked up by radio. If it is a issue with knives (really never should be a issue, this is a false and unjust law, a clear abuse of parliamentary lawmaking powers, goes against Cromwellian precedents for self defence, and is inherently Anto-English) then fence the area off, have everyone come through checkpoints, scan them for metal or a pat down (someone’s gonna touch your boobies) and if a knife or katana is found, check it in and return it after they leave. In the US, our concerts have a very low homicide rate because we do just that, even in places where it is legal to carry assault rifles on you everywhere, still have to abide by private property rules, which can ban weapons. We try not to be assholes about it, will offer a check in and check out process.

Can’t say we are anymore successful with drug issues or good old fashion pugilism.

:open_mouth:

This is what all the fashionable kids want to carry around for protection (yeah right) these days… have knife, they’ll use it, so best not to have knife at all. I know many minors who are locked up for stabbings and attempted murders, which they did to protect themselves… protect themselves from the people they either robbed or screwed over on some deal or other.

What did you think of the MPS’ 2016 carnival strategy overall? The fact that the event is held in the streets is what makes it hard for the police to police it effectively.

I carry worst than that, I often carry a gladius in my backpack, and usually have a bone saw on me. Those weapons aren’t a concern, the intentional disarming of the population is, like I’ve said many times, the UK is more violent than the US is, our homicide statistics, while legitimate, are also skewing the perceived threat, it is largely druggies like smears fighting turf wars. Outside of the inner cities, we have very low violence rates. Your less likely.to.be robbed than say in Italy, because violence against robbers in defence of body.and property is still legal here, but not in Italy. If I.was a African planning a route to Germany, I would choose the Italian route, safer if I gotta steal my supplies as I go.

No… you handle streets differently than parks, the main worry of street crowds is stampede. A police force pound for pound can have a greater presence per density, and has the height advantage for oversight. Facial.recognition is a gimmick, that merely scares a few pedophiles into caution, but they aren’t the most.rational bunch to begin with. You need actual eyes on the ground, eyeing everyone. My worst headache was a concert for this girl named Keysha or something like that, prepubescent girls, seemed like 10,000 plus, and gay guys introducing in their midst smoking pot (you can see the beginnings of my disapproval of trickier and his My Little Pony fetish), and fucking single males walking around in this shit… is it a father or a molester? Don’t know, eyes on. Nobody raped, I was expecting one attempt, but I kept the ushers on the edge of the steps and grass pointing.and making eye contact, talking into the radio, to give the impression everyone was watching every adult. You literally need.lots and lots of eyes probing and watching, not cameras, had we relied on cameras a few cherries would of been popped by creeps that night, caught on tape.

You look.around, and try to think like them… if I was going to.try to make a quick move, where do I take this girl or boy quickly? All those points need to be physically marked on a map, section by section, handed out to security at the beginning of the shift. Bathroom breaks need to be agreed upon in advance, who the relief is, what the security.guards conduct us to be, who is their leaders, how to.respond to police, injured people, drunks, fights, questions of buses, restroom locations, events planned that day, etc.

If it is a street, heightened points need to be reserved for security, and they can coordinate from up there, via radio. Radios, be they Motorola or Icons, need to have double the batteries used per shift, so they can be rotated out and charged while the radio is still in use. Water and electrolyte foods need to be plentiful for the guards, attention to heat and cold, rain closely watched. The use of barriers need to be set up, on outer barriers at 90° to the street, but inside more like 37/45° angles to force chock points, as well as contain the stampede effect, you can have street vendors on either side of the points, but if a stampede happens, people can knock these over or jump them to get to safety, and it.gives the elderly or ill a place to pull off to rest, as well as tired security.a place to lean and still observe with Max efficiency, for if you can’t.get them to mingle in the crowds- only some have the stamina and dedication to do that, the crowd can come to them. A few of these really help in crowd control, make sure they are linked, and not blocking downhill exits, smart.drunks will disable them rather than walk uphill around them.

A open space has less density, but you gotta use a completely.different security configuration, and you have the height advantage taken away for surveillance. Security and cop HQ will be separate, radios reliant on power provided, a tent will be necessary for their needs, separate from the cops, of military is “conscripted” by the police they too will require areas, that is three separate HQs, but the local electricians will want to isolate them together with emergency services, despite the necessity of getting all four to split up into.the cardinal directions, for having their HQ on the edge in each direction increases the overall parameter security, as well as gives the crowd options on where to turn when issues arise.

If everyone is being checked for your lame knives, then the park will need fenced off, if not, then it is free flow. Toilets will be more plentiful. More guards will be needed at night before, and after to watch all the gear, as a street is easier to secure. Costs go up, overall.

If given a choice, with limited manpower, I.choose street fair, but if the government is dumping troops and cash into.this, hands down, park is better… just don’t presumptions easier, it is different.

As one NHC ends the next is already being planned, so the world will soon know whether the next will still take to the streets or be relocated to one of the large Central London parks.

The knife crime rate here is far too high to implement any other option than the zero tolerance option we currently have, and the high public-taxpayer demand to control it has to be listened to.

No, the knife problem isn’t because of the availability of knives, but rather the low level of trust you have in your citizens, or should I say subjects. They aren’t raised to be community centric, responsible. Your society is continuously on the verge of succession from itself.

It is one of the great many reasons why a Paleo-Conservative isn’t the equivalent of your UKIP rabble, we tend to keep a eye on the liberty of the individual, individuals coming together for the good of a republic. You can’t to that if your scared of a couple of meager blades. In my neighborhood alone, there is probably a few hundred handguns, rifles, assault rifles, not to mention a wide range of arrows and martial arts weapons. Only thing illegal to own is crossbows, and that was due to hunting abuses of hunters illegally mowing down whole herds in silence. You can own artillary, you can own a fucking tank. We had till two weeks ago a old long hair hippy Vietnam vet walking around with swords and a fighting stick slung over his back, and two attack dogs on a leash, constantly patrolling. He died of something recently, heart attack or anorism, can’t recall what. Only stabbing death I know we ever had was with a kitchen knife on the railroad tracks by two kids, one deeply off balanced. You can’t outlaw kitchenknives… Thus was before Clinton started our current economic depression, the Mill was still going, we hadn’t had a murder in decades prior, and we had enough weapons to equip a small army in my town alone.

It really is that simple. Just focus on making better citizens, and you don’t have to fear them. Only in places where we can’t encourage this thinking, like in liberal strongholds, is it dangerous. They keep them impoverished and deranged, dog eats dog. It isn’t a good way to live, as a mere subject if the Democratic party, or of a queen. Goal is to be a good citizen, having a population that lives for and carries on for itself, seeking out the greater good.
