Why are sci-fi spaceships so crap?

They are mostly bulky, not semi-transparent and look like they are made of metal – not e.g. graphene aerofoam & carbons. The guns in games e.g. fo4 are blocky fat boxy horribleness, when they should be ultra-slim.

What happened to sleek?

…and please, due to the lack of sci-fi on TV [no star treks for years now], please don’t make any more militarised shit, its just really stupid. so is going around raping planets resources [no mans sky].

Halo is beyond dumb.

Both races are.

The humans go around in Jeeps with no window protection. And they have tanks where the driver is exposed and able to be shot.

The aliens have mastered faster than light travel but most of their guns are sub-sonic that shoot dodgeable projectiles.
