You see...a pimp's love is very different from that of a square.
Dating a stripper is like eating a noisy bag of chips in church. Everyone looks at you in disgust, but deep down they want some too.

Ha! That song is so ridiculous I have to like it. Also, it reminded me of this cover/remix. I cant seem to embed videos from my phone, but watch my girl kill this shit --

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don't bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: 'It's not where you take things from - it's where you take them to.'" - Jim Jarmusch

We had to put down our dog earlier this month. A white miniature schnauzer. She was 16 and a half and loved. It is more complicated than that, she was stubborn but affectionate and there are things about her life that I wish had been better, but I'll not make a book out of this. I flew across the country back to my parents place to be with her on her last few days, and to be there when she left us. My dad, my sister, and I took her to the vet together one last time. Dad drove, I sat in the passenger seat with our dog laying in my lap, and my sister sat in the back. I'll never forget that drive. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and we had the windows down, radio playing low. My dog didn't get up, put her paws on the door's sill, or stick her head out like she used to...too weak and lethargic..but she felt the wind coming in through the window and lifted up her head a bit to take in the air. I kind of lost it for a second then, and we all did later, when we let her go. I could go on.. I loved that dog so much.

I got fixated on a handful of songs during that time, especially these two crooners...

Heard this one on the radio the day before our appointment w/ the vet. Cathartic.

This one I probably listened to a 100 times this month. Sobering, stoic - like acknowledging life's sorrow, but also accepting it and moving on.

Touching story, fuse. :(

A spiritual master once said that if you make a list of all the most noble qualities which you might aspire to... things like unconditional love, loyalty, devotion, friendship, forgiveness, selflessness, sincerity, honesty, lack of guile, contentment and being full present in every moment, you’ll find a dog already has all those qualities; humans hardly have any. If you want to learn from a master, get a dog.

When I read your story, this video sprang to mind. It’s not the official music video; it’s a Polish video (aptly enough) with a relevant story.

(PS: Awesome that you’re into Scott Walker.)

Nice to see you around, Chakra!

It's crazy how much dogs improve our lives and bring us happiness, I don't know how often we're able to give as much in return. I watched the music video - it was well done. As painful as it is, there's definitely something sacred about laying a friend to rest. Thanks for that.

I'm newly into Scott Walker. Looking forward to hearing more of his work. I s'pose you're well into Nov. 1st by now, and I don't even know if they celebrate it down there, but Happy Halloween, dude! I love the summer months, but October is still probably my favorite.

Thanks fuse. Happy Halloween to you, too.
Yes, it's passed but it's not really that much of an event here in spite of them trying to make it big for years.

I got a philosophy degree, I'm not upset that I can't find work as a philosopher. It was my decision, and I knew that it wasn't a money making degree, so I get money elsewhere.

Speaking of dogs....

A couple of days ago was the 60th year since Laika was sacrificed to the god of Science (peace be upon him).

This is a tribute to the Laika, a stray dog the Soviets sent into space in 1957 aboard Sputnik 2. She was expected to live for a few days but died within hours most likely caused by overheating when part of the rocket failed to separate as planned.

Strange, surreal, sentimental, and kitsch all at the same time. Rest in peace, Laika.

Hindemith's opera "Mathis der Maler" concerns the painter Matthias Grünewald (1470-1530).
