The Georges are a pretty sorry lot when it comes to kings. The first one couldn’t even speak English, the second fell out with his family, the third one went mad and lost America (not necessarily in that order), the fourth was a fat wastrel and the fifth is most famous for saying “bugger Bognor” (even though he probably didn’t). The sixth was slightly better, but never wanted to be king in the first place.
Is George just about the least inspiring name they could have thought of?
