We all grew up in modern society, therefore we already know all it has to offer. Literature, the great philosophical works, the most abstract of concepts are already in us, before we ever read/knew them. Listen to any given modern song and ask yourself why you understand it, speak, listen to a casual conversation, you understand it.
Why is it that I’ve read so little poetry and yet my poetry is alike everyone else’s?
Why is it that I had once been so ill-read in philosophy and yet my ideas were alike all the philosophers?
Doubtless then to get outside of modern society one must separate themselves.
After all:
To be outside of something one must be separate from it.
So I have to ask how one can do that?
And, why should one, that is why should one want to, and if they do, what can they do to stop themselves?
