ILP Legends

…escort services now deleted

Can we get Viking escort boys?

Impenitent

Is it too soon? The online dude’s personae kinda scared me, and I distained his hardline leaning. But I couldn’t help but think he might be a fine fellow in real life. I hope he’s living on in a puppet somewhere.

Imp’s a legend if the word means anything at all.

Liteninbolt

He kinda freaked me out a bit before he was a Mod, with some notion that the Bible WAS God (maybe I misunderstood, but I went with it and… oh, nevermind), but he stood his constituency well once Admin… not an easy accomplishment!

I love this guy, he’s a fucking retard though.

As I said before on this thread I like people who are annoying, that’s not to say I don’t like people who are informative but nothing quite evokes the memories of someone who really annoyed you. Although they had to be more than that, they had to have been smart enough to engage.

Have you all forgotten of liquidangel? She has always had so much wisdom to offer. Still around at ILO, well when she isn’t off on a two week meditation in the desert. Of course she separated from this site several years ago.

Oh and don’t forget about those who came a bit later. What about living legend himself Old_Gobbo? I remember his Golden Years…lest you bring up…9/11. Seriously though, very interesting character.

It wasn’t always the most articulate ones that I was impressed with either. You can tell when people hide behind their own intellect. Misuse, misunderstand it. Attempt to “prove” things. That’s a sign of over-confidence if you ask me. A sign of a mind on a journey not a mind that has reached a destination. Then there were those who seemed to have reached a destination, or maybe…maybe they saw a sign advertising “World’s Largest Ball of Yarn” and just had to go see it, forgot where they were really going in the first place. They became so enamored with it that they got stuck there. Less wisdom, more confusion. The ones that we sit here talking about are usually the ones with uniqueness. Whose brilliance is not lost among their vast knowledge of terms and works of others.

Who were those that made an impact?

Whenever Dunamis entered into a discussion…the atmosphere was palpable indeed. people worshiping

detrop was really cool. A relentless curmudgeon who was most likely correct and deserved to win his arguments. Failed to recognize how ridiculous he was though, pride was his biggest fault. I once got into an argument with him over about marijuana seeds, growing, etc. He clearly didn’t know what he was talking about or rather he was convinced the information he had was correct when I in fact knew what he was saying was false. It was interesting to see his mind work in this fashion, his faults were very present. However his brilliance was undeniable.

Gamer…whenever he took the time to write something it always seemed to be of great interest and always with a creative touch, neatly packaged with a trademark lack of punctuation and capitalization that for him displayed a sort of masculinity rather then innocence.

Who else…well there are the Sentinals, those who stand guard of this domain no matter who is frequenting. The true regulars. The fixtures. “Hey Frank how’s it going, yep I’ll have the usual.” I think we all know who they are.

Oh and Colin_Sign. His creative writing methods always amused me. Very intelligent.

Bob. Wow, I almost forgot. This guy is something else. You put in a quarter…no ten cents and he gives you a fortune. If you are ever looking for advice from a sincere person. Ask Bob.

I don’t think that ben ever really liked the direction of this website. Site has been around for a long time though before ben decided to sort of…leave. I feel when I joined…2005-2007 was when this site really exploded. Though it may have become a bit “overpopulated”, it serves its purpose very well and I’m glad that it continues to exist.

This isn’t a place for ‘academics’ to spout off their knowledge of books and words (though this might have been it’s intention). This is a place where people learn. This is an educational institution. I know that I learned a lot from many great teachers. I’m sure many of you feel the same.

Lots of students. Lots of teachers. More students then teachers. More dummies then geniuses. Sometimes though…the students teach the teachers. Sometimes the geniuses learn from the dummies.

P.S. Didn’t mean to leave anyone out…doesn’t mean you aren’t special!!! chortle

I pop in now and then for signs of the birth of the new ILP Legends.

There sadly are no new legends coming in like there were back in the day so no need to pop in ever again
But I wish Ecmandu would invent a time machine so that I could go back to when the forum began in 200I

There are only about I0 people posting here now as tab says and never all at the same time but the forum archive is its best feature
Prom recently posted in an I8 year old thread and while I probably cannot beat that I intend to resurrect more dead ones than he can
