I Heart Huckabees

im suprised nobody has made a thread for this yet considering the movie is about philosophy.

so did you guys like it or hate it?

Had I seen this film in my teens or twenties, I would have
converted to the religion of “I love huckbees”
and probably changed my name to the jason swartzman
character, but I saw it a age 46, so I got a “that nice”
movie but earlier in my life, huckbee’s, a life changing movie.
My life changing movies are (two of them)
“Harold and Maude”, and “Silent Running”.

i would normally be embarrased to say that a movie had changed my life…but this one actually did…and im in my teens, yeah i know im a silly little kid.

one of my favorites

Mr. Kebop:i would normally be embarrassed to say that a movie had changed my life…but this one actually did…and im in my teens, yeah i know im a silly little kid."

K: why would you be embarrassed? We each have a book that
changed our lives, why not a movie?

Silly? does it matter? Not in my book.

Kropotkin

Wow, please explain that one.

Mr. Kebop

In what way did it change your life?

Peter Kropotkin:“Silent Running”.

AD: Wow, please explain that one."

K: Silent Running was a movie, around 1972? about
when the world had destroyed the plants and trees of the world,
and all that was left were out in space, and bruce dern,
as a crazy nut who saved them. That film turned me into a
environmentalist. In 1972, I lived in Minnesota, I was 14, I think.
Long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

this is gonna sound funny…but it wasnt that it changed my view of the world really…it just gave me more comfort with myself.

i had never been to a philosophy forum or really attempted to express myself or my thoughts to anyone, unless i was writing a paper for school.

but the same thoughts and ideas that i had…were in this movie.

that showed me that there were plenty of other people out there who go through the exact same issues, and worries and thoughts…and everything.

so it made me more comfortable with myself as…a philosopher.

This isn’t really a review thread as much as its a discussion of the film. Hense I’m moved it to Mundane Babble.
