Well the exam period is nearly over and the summer holidays are just around the corner. As was discussed in an earlier thread, there is a lot of interest in organising a gathering for members of ilovephilosophy.com. I shall look again over the ideas for what we can do but I think meeting in Central London in a park or pub seems our best bet.
The most important thing is to set a date. So if you are interested in attending please say which dates over the next 2 months which you can make and then we can decide which is the best day for it. Also if you have any preference on what we should do on the day then also voice that.
hey I just got here, I don’t want you touchy feely types touching and feeling me. I just met you folks.
BUTTTT I could meet you on a casino boat on July/20 outside of South Carolina for a day of gambling and drinking. i intend to sit on the deck and make the waiter give me free drinks by telling him they are for my friend Monty who keeps running off, and that the drinks should be put on Monty’s bill not mine. with any luck somebody will be named Monty. Oh yeah he’s getting screwed more than the vodka will screw me. heheheheh
Most users ever online was 12 on Thu May 09, 2002 4:02 pm
K, instead of meeting lets all try and be online at one time? at least 13 people. NEW RECORD Can we do it? YES WE CAN! (damn you bob the builder and your sound track manager)
For those of you wanting to use IRC there is a chat room at /server irc.blitzed.org and /join #philosophy. Web users can get there using the java applet at ilovephilosophy.com/irc.php.
August 16th til the beginning of September seems like the best time to hold it.
Please say any dates between that time which you cannot do and which ones you can do and I will set a date soon.
Too bad i dont live in london. I would love to go a pub with you mates. but honestly the price would FAR outweigh the good times to be had. I wonder though. if i struck off right now with a row boat if i could make it in time.
good suggested would be at a small sized festival a scaled down Glastonbury, where a Philosphy tent could be set up, and philosophers new and old could acquaint.
other than that, what about a collective online gathering via a communication software program such as icq or yahoo? as an initail introduction?
