I always preferred The Golden Arches to the King and would not even try BK it just wasnt OK for me. Whenever friends and I got together we would generally go to Mac D’s and I was happy.However I came to uni and on an outing with friends they all wanted to go to Burger King.So I had to haul ass over to Maccy D’s get y food and then eat it discreetly in B.King 
.Anyway on one of my journeys from uni to home I decided to try a cheese burger (thats what i have from MD ) from BK to see what it was like and lo and behold it was rather nice.I really like the flame grilled taste and much as i hate to admit mey friends were right. Havng said that I dont think I will totally reject Md’s but I weill definitely be going between both.
Also I used to work at MD’s I know bad idea but I was young and broke. It was ok for a while but wouldnt want to make a career of it.
this poll seems to have lost it’s initial momentum, probably cos its gone and got all political on us. I mean just because I eat at Burger King, doesn’t necessarily mean my life is “meaningless”. Going along with a similar logic, surely using a microsoft operating system doesn’t make you a very committed neo-communist right? I mean there are other alternatives, but microsoft is everywhere, you know what you’re getting when you buy a product and to some extents, it tastes ok…sorry…i mean it works ok.
“Meaningless” is a little harsh considering you know absolutely nothing about me and you’re basing that judgement purely on the fact that I eat at a fast food chain. Consider a world where you don’t have the freedom to express views that don’t comply with what the government stands for, where saying the kind of stuff you say again and again would result in exile or execution. At least we have the choice to decide where we eat and what we eat. No one forces anyone to eat in a fast food chain, it is shit, but a vast amount of people get off on it, or if you prefer it in more simplified terms - the revolutionary masses eat fast food because they’re hungry and they like the taste of it, not necessarily because their lives lack substance.
This is purely a light hearted poll, not a ponderence (is that a word?) on the deeper meaning of our lives-thats what the philosophy forums are for. Sorry to get all arsy but it pisses me off.

Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks… its takes 2 minutes to make a run of hamburgers. Ok, still a short time, but think how lovely and fresh the food is. Well, if you go to a good restaurant. And if the food you want isn’t there, only 2 minutes to wait for fresh food.
However how fresh is BK food? While McDs openly ‘hold’ their food in a hot production bin, what do BK do? Hold it round the back for half an hour and then in the bin as well! This is why their food looks better - the lettuce hasn’t had time to heat up… in actual fact the meat is fukkered. Oh yeah, and flame grilled taste? It’s seasoning put on in the factory before the meat is frozen; the meat is ‘cooked’ on filament tubes.
But I do agree with the majority, although more sly, BK tastes better.
As for the advertising campaigns, yeah there have been some shoddy ones, but at the same time lots of the Happy Meal ads are brilliant. Just think of that little kiddies face lighting up when he sees the Golden Arches/Ronald McDonald. So true. Bk have nothing like that to play on. You’ll find that McDs holds its huge market over the years by getting kids interested in them in this way from an early age, they just keep coming back. Nyak, BK lovers are the non-conformists.
Chicken options are wikked: premier, wrap, nuggets, chicken mayo, chicken & ketchup burger. Certainly more at McDs than BK.
And yup, Wimpy is certainly a non contender - I heard that all restaurants were franchised off a few years back. The remaining ones are Nepalese cafes with a hint of red decor.
And yeah, Clown eh… you want to ask a more biased question Freddie?
biast? moi? and as for the smiles of happiness on the children’s faces at the sight of a sweaty failed actor dressed as a clown…well its all a bit suspect if you ask me. You do have to wonder what old Ron puts in his happy meals that makes all the kids so eager to get their hands on them, and makes a screaming three year old shut up whilst at the same time enjoying hours of fun with one of Ronald’s toys…erm…i think i’ll stop now.
I don’t care what anyone says, i love Burger King and have always striven to live up to the standards of cool that the Kid’s Club Kids have set with their stunning 80s garments and the way that each one of them represents each major ethnic group of our society…beautiful. If only we could all live by their example of the perfect society based around low cost meals for children, with high quality gifts thrown in just for the fun of it…sigh

i really didn’t realise that about burger king. did anyone else genuinely believe the flame-grilled thing? 
and rich, the chicken and ketchup burger and premier are very recent developments, and the wrap is seasonal. a weak argument on the chicken front, i feel.
Burger King are being sold off cause they’re failing. Their market share has fallen so low they’ve had to be sold. It was in the Economist (or something like that). Honest.
politics aside (which is really how it SHOULD be on this poll) id choose BK. Its not so cut and dry as people have suggested though. I think the King fries in BK are actually worse than the old ones, and the BIG KING with its suspect sauce…well, I dont wanna think how many frustrated old men it takes to create each serving! McDonalds definately have the superior chip, at the expense of having crappy burgers. I mean, when pay day hits, you’ve come outa the pub, you’re wrecked and you need something greasy to satisfy your needs, what do you go for? a measily BigMac? course not! The Whopper looms over it! And it tastes better.
I do have to agree though, that both these places are crap, make crap food and are run by one company headed by Satan himself. For you Kingstonians out there, goto Sakur inbetween the Ram and the Mill for some decent eatings! Easily the best kebabs you’ll ever eat!

Recently , I bought a Mc Donalds bacon burger and a BK bacon burger, and I tasted the buns,…etc indivually. Bk has more flavour man!!.. wheerver I go, From Ja to Puerto Rico to Us…McDonalds chicken is always greasy,fatty and disgusting… and cheap doesn’t always mean you have to conform.
darn it… and secondly…Why would anyone choose Mcdonalds over Burger King when BK has the sexiest tastiest pies ever made? (Dutch pie and Hershey pie).

In a response to Clarice’s ages-ago comment about Clocks, you don’t want to eat ANYTHING from there. Why? Because Gary Curry’s girlfriend, who looks like she’s been decomposing for a few months, works there, and you know she spits in the food.
Personally I hate both Burger King AND McDonalds now, having made myself repelled by McD’s because I used to have 2 of their meals a day. I can just about manage some chips from McDs these days, or a cheeseburger if I’m REALLY drunk, but that’s it. Why go for either when you can get nicer food somewhere else for only a pound or so more?
But anyway, DEFINITELY MCDONALDS. BK chips taste like shite, and their employees are fucking imbeciles… not to mention the fact that they advertise their desserts in branches where they don’t even sell them.

y’know, much as she is a bit of a corpse, she’s never spat in my sandwich to date. and you want to get it from the other, much prettier one anyway. she’s not as off-putting. plus, the charming irish lady makes up for both of them. although i don’t like it when she thinks buying v hard avocados is acceptable.

I’m in complete argeement with Macca on this one, as I have posted before in my posts, it is the service industry that gives us shit, we think we have choice, but really everywhere we go it’s the same salty and fatty principle running the place. This is a generalized point of view, there are good and healthy places to eat, their just hard to find. But to answer the original question, I have to say that I choose Macdonalds over Burger King.

I work in BK and I know that, believe it or not, the burgers ARE genuinely flame-grilled…I don`t know where you got your information from Rich. .and everyone else who said they were cooked on filament bulbs or whatever.
mcdonalds easy. their burgers may be crap, but i dont care, i dont eat em anyway =) their fries are 20x better then BK. i expesically like it when you get a soft one… i dont know why but they taste SO good. anad their chicken nuggets are rad as hell. everytime i go to McD’s i always get a Large Fry, 9 Nuggets, and a Medium Vanilla Milkshake. and im always satisfied afterwards. the barbeque sauce they have also beats out BK’s. and their service? who cares. if i want service, i DONT go to fast food. its fast food. what do you expect. if i want slow, well prepared food ill go somewhere else. but when it comes to fast, semi-decint food McD’s is the palce to go. ya gota give a little to get a litle =)
but i like subway better then them all anyway.

This has had a tremendous impact on me. I WILL not eat Micky Ds and Burger sling burgers anymore…its a mental thing i guess.

heh i heard somewhere that so does mcdonalds… but when they say that their burgers are 100% beef its because the comppany that supplies them is CALLED 100% beef. i always thought that was a neet trick if it was true.
