Society Sucks?

The poetry of catalogue
In lists of one’s own monologue
Seldom has sufficient wit
To see the I as also it–
To see that I am you, and you
Are I where any dream comes true.

To curse the impropriety
Of an insane society
Is to admit, if you would dare,
You must be one devoid of care
Beyond your needing to create
A self you can substantiate.

If only the energy gone into condemning society could be used for correcting it!

It takes a instant to condemn something but it takes a lifetime to correct it.

True. My doggerel came about after I read a lengthy poem in which the central idea was that society is toxic and imposes its toxicity on us. There was no thought given to the reality that we are all in society together, hence each individual is responsible for working with others to create a sane society.

The situation is getting even more difficult as time progresses as our society (world) is becoming smaller with the inevitable process of globalisation.

Or maybe simpler, as borders and boundaries conflate, :

Exit one door, another opens.

Some good caused by touches of evil.

What causes the complexity to become simple: the beneficial aspect of contradiction.

How? Robert Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land : to resolve contradiction, think in doubles. Then, the contradiction gets rid of the difficulty.
