Life on the Edge

Postby Ierrellus » Sat Oct 31, 2015 4:21 pm

(Sung to the tune of "Bottle of Wine")

Life on the edge,
Life on the ledge,
Ready to slip but still sliding--
Gimme some change,
I can arrange
Some happy high without hiding.

Ran out of luck.
Spare me a buck.
Gimme a smoke if you got 'em.
Ran out of gas.
Cops on my ass.
Life is a bitch at the bottom.

Out in the street
Hurting hearts beat,
Waiting for sacred surprises.
You never know
Under the show--
Jesus has many disguises.

Trust in the Lord.
Still can't afford
Anything I am not given.
Buy me a drink
So I can think
I'm still in love with the living
"We must love one another or die." W.H.Auden
I admit I'm an asshole. Now, can we get back to the conversation?
From the mad poet of McKinley Ave.
