Song/Poem I wrote

Nihilist Musings
I go from sleeping too early
To waking up too late.
There’s so little reason to worry.
Life’s not meant to-be-that-great.

Aren’t you so handsome?
We’ll put you on our cover page.
Aren’t you a nice guy?
We’ll need you here to hide our rage.

The longer I live,
The more I feel
We breathe each day
Just to pass the time a-way.
Nothing left to give.
There is so much
That I’ve done wrong.
Life is much too long.

Crippling stagnation.
Life’s made of regrets.
Feeling indignation
That it is never over yet.

Aren’t you so social?
We’ll try to keep you in your place.
We’ll take the children of talent,
And we’ll lock them all up in our cage.

Bonded, tied and bound
I feel so held
Back from what’s real.
It makes it hard to feel.
Marching around.
Is life a
revolving door?
Or…is there more?

If there’s a God, he led us on.
He told us there is a right or wrong.
Insisted to us that we were free,
But everything here looks caused to me.
And if this world must end right now,
How could “nothing” scream so loud?
Life must always be part of me,
Because the nothing that is cannot be free.

Bonded, tied and bound
I feel so held
Back from what’s real.
It makes it hard to feel.
Marching around.
Is life a
revolving door?
Or…is there more?

The longer I live,
The more I feel
We breathe each day
Just to pass the time a-way.
Nothing left to give.
There is so much
That I’ve done wrong.
Life is much too long.
