The highest science is philosophy, its pulse beats most slowly, however, this is like vodka kept in your freezer. It is more and better able to withstand cold than other ordinary liquids. Philosophy can be understood as the title of the sciences inclusive, or as the highest science. However, science must have some link to wisdom, or it would be mere technique. What is necessary to life can become technique, but what is unnecessary is virtue or wisdom. The human is such never to be satisfied with the necessary. And yet, this is what is called sublime, the removal of pain. However, what is beautiful is the brilliant shine of what calls out to the most persevering and serious ones.
