I love to explore thoughts. I’ve never been able to understand why a person feels a compulsion to believe in something regarding a facet of life that is inherently unprovable. Why is it so necessary to attach a reason, purpose, or outcome to that facet of life when in reality nothing regarding it can be proven (yet). Perhaps I am very lucky, that the option of unlimited possibilities seems so much more appealing than any absolute. I am proud of the freedom this outlook of possibility has granted me.
I believe in something more than the concept of god. I believe in something more than any human being has ever been able to decipher (yet). I’d prefer not to view that there is a “higher power” and instead focus on the possibility that there is something happening in our world that is so far beyond anyone’s current ability of comprehension and this is why we haven’t discovered it yet. That is not to say that we won’t discover it, simply that we have not yet.
I believe life is about creation, evolving beyond what we once were, if nothing more than to see what we are capable of. And this I believe extends beyond just humans, and includes plant life and animals. Perhaps there are some plants or animals on earth that have a greater comprehension of the universe then we do. Then again, when I say we, referring to us humans as a separate entity from an animal or plant, it feels wrong. From now on when I say we I am referring to everything we know, humans, plants, animals, water, sunlight…everything.
I believe, in very rudimentary terms of course, that we are all of this earth and this universe, we are all made of the same stardust as anything we’ve ever known to be a thing. And not only are we made of the same stardust, but we actually rely on each other to survive or live. An example would be sunlight and water are necessary for plants to grow which in turn feeds animals and humans, not to mention produces oxygen for us to breathe and survive. Moving beyond basic survival needs, we have evolved to collaborate with plants and animals in ways that have made life better or more evolved. Examples of this would be humans riding horses, an incredible transportation option, or humans using trees or plants such as hemp to produce paper, which has carried forth many great things. Now I realize this puts humans in the constant “higher power” position as we ride the horse and we create the paper, but I don’t believe that is the way to view it. I view it as each entity playing the role is best knows how to play.
This leads me to the seemingly only provable fact about life, that collaboration is the basis of living. Very different entities coming together to create something more. This is evidenced by the fact that man and woman come together to create another human. Water and sunlight feed a plant which in turn creates oxygen for humans to breathe. The possibility of what can happen when we collaborate is unlimited. This brings me back to the question of why? Why do we ever try to limit what could be possible? To me that seems to be inherently against what life seems to be all about. I believe exploring, creating, and working together should be the primary objective of each and every one of us, if nothing more than to see what is possible.
We all want to be connected, we all need to be connected, and the beautiful thing is we. all. are. connected.
