Is today different from any day 50 years from now?
No I don’t think today + 50, or 10 years from now are synonymous either. There will be 3D laser carbon printers/welders/builders, and when you can get everything you want and that’s built that strong, politics n stuff aren’t going to matter much. The revolutions of history are caused by need, remove need and you will get an entirely different society/machine. re-use will have to 100% replace recycling and waste philosophies.
My guess is that when you can make everything perfect, you will desire its artistic opposite, patina, hand decoration, skill and what have you. So it will be a world with a few thousand percent more artists and people involved in creative arts, possibly that will be the main job market imho. One only has to imagine that the new industrial revolution will be about 3D models being constructed physically by sophisticated robotic machines, ergo it is as easy to build bespoke as to build exact copies. People will still want exact Ferrari’s and what have you, but for every unique product there will be a team to get it built digitally and then physically.
