My choice speaks through the suggested alteration and this thread, it would seem. I am relieved.

The task of trying to clarify the clouds within and stemming from others is enormous and questionably futile and fruitless.

Stemming is an interesting process. One can stem from another in order to understand another's position or to change another's position.

I believe if our goal is the latter, then it would be an enormous task whilst trying to clarify the clouds within. However, if it's the former, it isn't such a feat, as long as one's open. Better yet, this approach still doesn't rule out the latter.

I believe I may have stemmed from you in order to seek validation. Either that, or you've played the role of Philosopher, Preacher and Teacher which would beg the question, if seeking to understand one's self through the understandings of another is likely futile and fruitless, why would share you understandings with me? For wouldn't it just be noise?

There is negative noise and positive noise. But there is also too much noise or too little. The amount is the greater concern, even critical. Perhaps you could use a little subatomic metaphysics;

Have you ever wondered why an electron being so strongly attracted to a proton, never simply rushes into its embrace and dissolves in the union? In physics, they speak of the "weak force", a magical force that keeps them separate. Having no understanding of it, they refer to it as merely "fundamental" (ie. "we have no idea why. It's just the way it is."). Some are simply too proud to ask the Philosopher/Metaphysicist.

For survival, invasive noise must be filtered, not merely by positive or negative, but more critically by amount. To the proton, the electron is invasive negative noise. To the electron, the proton is a great deal of positive noise. Each has an appreciation for the other, but neither can fully accept the other being too close with so much of what it is. In physics and engineering terms, this is an issue of what is called "impedance". When too much of something too strongly different than oneself comes along too quickly, it absolutely must be slowed down so as to be properly handled or assimilated, such as "information overload". The universe, in effect, knows this in that, that which survives behaves this way, filtering and slowing down what cannot be handled.

The end result in physics is that the electron rushes toward the proton and then buzzes around it endlessly trapped into wanting but never reaching or touching the focus of its passion. Being lighter and much smaller, it orbits in a constant flighty hovering. And as that "atom" is born and from such comes the hope of all life. Molecules can then be formed and eventually even DNA.

On a much larger scale, the same phenomena occurs and is the foundation of what has been called the "philosopher's stone". If you imagine the female being attracted to a Man (not merely a male, but an extra substantial male), she quickly hovers around him wanting but never fully uniting such as to dissolve into him. She remains female and he, male. As she buzzes around him endlessly prattling every flighty thought, the stoic Texan simply replies, "yes dear... yes dear..." They each consume the would-be effect that each would otherwise have on society. They become a stable, neutral pairing. And it is upon such stones, the social pyramids of old were built, the "family unit".

When society began to force each to actually become the other, masculinizing the female and feminizing the male, they could no longer be a stable unit, no longer capable of maintaining a proper attraction and separation. From such, all is lost. It is critical that one represent much stronger noise than the other and each be a very different type of noise so that each can properly filter and assimilate while still being attracted and attractive. When an electron meets a positron (rather than a proton) they annihilate each other completely. There isn't enough impedance, "impediment", to ensure that they don't get too close and merely cancel each other entirely leaving nothing but radiant noise as their legacy.

So what does all that mean? It means that to be stable and give hope to a future requires that one filter the noise from that which is not itself yet appealing. Not too much food, not too much drink, not too much sex, not too much of anything of significant attraction regardless of the need and lack of it within yourself.

So touch the relatively negative. Touch the relatively positive. But do so only in as much as can be assimilated into proper harmony with what you are. Slow down the consumption of noise, impede its potential effect upon you so that you can be a stable you, a particle, with a future that is more than merely more radiant noise.

It is upon that particle that refuses to be anything other than what it is while wanting to be very close to what it isn't, that all of life of every type is formed and has hope. And without which, the entire universe could not have a single stone.

But watch out for the all too real monolithic Borg that attempts to dissolve, convert, and assimilate all things into its lifeless cubic self, a black-hole. "Resistance is [seemingly] futile."
