I could not write “William” so I wrote “Alexander”. Ad-lib, ad-hoc naming, no ties or associating to anything, other than being “NOT Willliam”.

“Erm” is an onomatopoeia. It means, “Uh”, “Um”, “Er…”, etc. An exclamation of no meaning, other than expressing a need to collect one’s thoughts before he or she starts to make a point.
