Saddest songs ever made

Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen, or Permafrost by Magazine, depending on how you define sad… sometimes numbness can be the most depressing thing of all.

Why? Does the song involve a fat white guy lying through his teeth for 90 minutes?

I mean the episode when the cops kill a black guy …

You guys never heard of songs form the Funeral Doom genre I take it?

Try something by Shape Of Despair if you can find it. You won’t be able to find a song by them that isn’t crushingly depressing. They’re my favourite band

‘Angels Of Distress’ perhaps? Or ‘Quiet These Paintings Are’? They are generally very long songs though, beware.

Where Can My Baby Be? not sure who it’s by
Yesterday by the Beatles.

Hands down, the saddest song ever made is “Puff the Magic Dragon”.

If I had to choose a second, it’d probably be “Frosty the Snowman”.

“If You Wanna Be My Lover” by the Spice Girls is the saddest excuse for a song ever made.

For some reason, American Pie by Don Mclean makes me weepy.

The Smiths- How Soon is Now?

I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
Of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does

I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and the heir
Of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am Human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does

There’s a club, if you’d like to go
You could meet someone who really loves you
So you go, and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home
And you cry
And you want to die

When you say it’s gonna happen now,
Well, when exactly do you mean?
See I’ve already waited too long
And all my hope is gone

tis beautiful indeed

The wall on which the prophets wrote
Is cracking at the seams.
Upon the instruments if death
The sunlight brightly gleams.
When every man is torn apart
With nightmares and with dreams,
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
As silence drowns the screams.

Between the iron gates of fate,
The seeds of time were sown,
And watered by the deeds of those
Who know and who are known;
Knowledge is a deadly friend
When no one sets the rules.
The fate of all mankind I see
Is in the hands of fools.

Confusion will be my epitaph.
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back
and laugh.
But I fear tomorrow I’ll be crying,
Yes I fear tomorrow I’ll be crying.

Eh, that stops being sad after 4 or 5 listens, for me.

Foolish Games by Jewel
Breathe Easy by Blue (yes, i know Blue don’t write their stuff, but whoever wrote it did well.)

Just about anything by Dashboard Confessional. Seiously good, seriously depressing, and i challenge anyone to say that he dosnt sing about something that has happened to you at leaast once, in at least one of his songs!
