Pedro's Corner

You gotta wonder about a land where 80% of the songs are… love songs to the land.

Sometimes to the Moon:

“The Moon is looking at me. I don’t know what it sees in me. My clothes are clean.”

And finally, the ultimate Metal opus:

Though I may recommend listening to the album as a playlist so as to not fuck up the transitions youtube.com/watch?v=avAUIf5 … EC&index=1

Lamb of God and Meshuggah remind me of talking shit all night at the forums at guitar.com before we
before it got hacked
good times

my problem with both bands is the vocals
i’m picky with my growling
it’s not supposed to sound like a dude puking
it’s supposed to sound like

There we have a disagreement.

Like Nile. i don’t like Nile.

Meshuggah and LoG weren’t going for D metal though. They were reaping to bring into the old grail of a supergroup, a heavy metal band whose popularity matches The Beatles but ONLY in the undeground. so that was the search. Mixed success, at least as far as me, as I found it charming but nothing to stick to. Metallica had one suchly oriented album.

It’s all really trying to negociate with rap and trying to bury the memory of Nu Metal, though I don’t know why. SOAD and Korn were awesome.

The paradox was: The Bass.

Bass destroyed metal in the end. What new bands are there? None. Hipster snowflakes with nothing to contribute. And that’s just a guess, I haven’t even heard.

AaAAHahahaha, I laughed out loud

I don’t know Nile, but I do like those vocals.
gotta sound like demon

The only growl I ended up liking was the puke growl. But I knew it was childish. Or like Arsis’ synth grow, really a repackaged oldschool metal wwAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, YEAH!

The only serious like, dark metal growl is a skreetch. but I wopn’t go there madam. I won’t go there.

Nile is like Cannibal corpse taking itself seriously

they say it was pantera that did it
all the bands coming after them trying to copy that sound and fucking up
creativelive.com/blog/pante … roduction/

Yeah goddamnit, Pantera was good.

You could just as easily lay it at Sepultura’s feet though. To point out precicely the bass in Slayer. was an expansive move, but possibly ended up here.

Who can be better than Metallica?

That is the only question.

Only this guy found a way out, and the likes of Sepultura dragged it mostly back in:

South America never understood the distinction betwen mainstream and underground. all we heard was “Metal.”

Thus Sepultura. Broke everybody’s face open.
