Collective learning is a bust for the spiritual element is lost while the population is simultaneously deprived of the first hand experiences of actually “doing”, the same lacking becomes projected onto the products of our histories.
Feels like you are confirming my thought/opinion. While the “spiritual element may appear to be lost” … empirical evidence consistently confirms the “spiritual element is never lost” … it works it’s magic in ways incomprehensible to humans.
So incomprehensible that humans are completely clueless. 
Yeah … but they’ll wake up when the spirit bites them in the ass!
