Consequences make actions useful or useless.
No single description is equally useful in all contexts.
Meaningless = not identifiably useful in any context.
Specialization. - How can one expect grounded criticism and accurate, appropriate assessment from non-specialists? Specialization, in the scholastic sense, is valuble and even indispensible. Yet we must also recognize that the work of genius, the visionary, the true artists, is definitively peerless. Those who are genuinely interested in the pursuit of thier own genius must face what is at least the possibility they are alone in their quest, they are its only ‘specialist’. Alas, there may be nowhere to turn for criticism, less themselves. Onward still.

You Can Count On Me is a fucking GREAT movie.
I liked it the first time I saw it (gave it an official ‘7’), but after watching it a second time yesterday, I now recognize it as an absolute triumph in film-making.
Virtually every scene has either a laugh, a witticism, or a dramatic moment. Dialogue is exceptional. Both theism and atheism are represented with tact and honesty. The female-male dynamic is executed with precision … I should probably write a whole review to back up my claims here, but this is the mundane babble thread of the Mundane Babble forum … so who really cares?
The film has moved from a 7 to a 9 out of 10 in my view, that’s the bottom line of this post.
